I would also like to know where my pictures fit into the true, faux ,or not macro definition. I only have my 18-55 and my 55-250 lens’s and I don’t think either one is a true macro lens but they do say macro on the lens some where. Well it has the little flower that is supposed to mean macro. on the 18-55 it says .8ft for the min. focus point. on the 55-250 it’s more like 3.4 ft.

    Very cool!
I have had one picture linked on a website with a funny caption. I forgot to bookmark it though and currently am on the cheap version of Flickr so I can’t look up where the traffic is coming from. Plus another lady just asked if she could use one of my pictures for a travel website that focuses on northern California. http://www.discovernortherncalifornia.com/ She hasn’t done it yet but I said she could.

All this history got me thinking about when I started this. I started with the Happy Anniversary II contest with a shitty 50 dollar Walmart camera and no idea how to take a picture let alone a good picture. I would like to say thank you all for getting me hooked on the only hobby I have ever stuck with after I found out how expensive it can get.It has been lots of fun and I really love looking at all the excellent pictures You all come up with every week.

well I have nothing for tonight. life has conspired against me on so many levels. I don’t seem to have very many childish things anymore and I couldn’t figure out how to get any usable pictures with the crappy weather outdoors that could be used tonight. between that and becoming unemployed at the end of last week my brain is not working in kid mode this week. hopefully I can find some bugs to shoot before next week rolls around.

Take a picture of yourself throwing a tantrum. that’s childish, and you should have outgrown it, but given your circumstances, who would blame you?

If you’d suffer moving to Az, my company (Microchip) is still hiring. But mail, or fax, in your resume. The online apps get mostly ignored.

lol. I have never been one to throw a tantrum even when I was little. and I cannot act so it would probably look fake . thanks for the AZ offer but fark makes me fear Az almost as much as Florida. I can’t afford a move anyway unless the hiring company pays for the whole move including rent for the first month. I just had my trucks transmission fixed a couple weeks before this and that killed my savings completely. I guess it never rains but it pours

I either passed 2000 votes this week or last week, also tied for the most votes I have gotten for a single picture and it is the best I have ever placed also. I didn’t think I would beat staplermofo. But I came closer to first than ever before.

congrats staplermofo. That was the picture I figured would win when I saw how many votes it got in the first hour or so.

Until this contest I have never had a picture above U-man. All this last couple of days the foggy lighthouse has been really popular it seems. I am currently tied for fourth place with U-man so that is still better than I have ever done before. It’s not a win yet but close enough for this week if the votes don’t change again before close of voting. Woo Hoo!

I know exactly the fogginess you are talking about Elsinore and they do look very cool kinda slithering down the canyons and valleys.

250 is an insult meaning you’re stupid in chinese. So I’ve heard. Something along the lines of they used to bundle coins in groups of 1000, so to say someone has 250 coins is like saying they’re not playing with a full deck.

Maybe breaking it up? One photo featuring each of the numbers 2, 5, and 0, whether it be the actual number, or that number of objects.

    I like that idea. +1
