Participantthat’s what i meant – he saw the instructions and got frustrated before even trying.

Participanti think he saw the length of the (very detailed and thorough and easy to follow) instructions and threw up his hands without even trying.
that’s the sense i get, at least.

Participanthost = image host. you upload your pictures to a site (such as flickr or photobucket or pbase or similar) and then that website is your image host – when you post a picture for farktography you link back to the image host, causing the picture you uploaded to flickr (or whatever) to show up in the fark thread.
html = hypertext markup language. the most basic web language (i think, please correct me if i’m wrong). it’s the text you enter into the fark comment box to cause your image to show up in a thread.
example –
is the code that would place your image in a fark thread (replacing ‘image’ with the proper address of course). flickr will generate this code for you automatically, so all you have to do is cut and paste.

ParticipantSorry, but my internet skills only go as far as “send as attachment”…Which is all it should take. I can’t see going thru all that trouble just to post a picture…
i think you’re going to have trouble posting pictures in general then – the html is actually pretty easy and if you have a flickr acc’t you can upload pictures to host via email.

ParticipantJezusss! Do I receive college credit for this? Darn shame….I have alot of good pics I would like to share. I will look for a different site to post them. Something a little more user friendly. Again, thanks for trying…
’tis a shame. it’s a fun community; too bad you’ll miss out on the camaraderie.

Participanthaven’t heard…..
i think i’m out tonight – i guess it depends on what time i get home. i dug out some slides of flying with my friend jon but haven’t scanned anything yet and haven’t had a chance to look through my archives.

Participantdo it. you’ll be pissed at yourself if you don’t.

Participantdeveloping is SO FUN. when mr. bort and i finally build a house a darkroom is definitely a requirement.
hey, he gets a workshop, i get a darkroom. pretty fair, i think. 😛
renko – i second the brain picking. as soon as i get back into film a bit i will also be doing some brain picking (if you don’t mind, of course).

Participantbetween the time the greenlight time is set and when it actually goes green there is no voting – so usually there are only 2-3 hours of voting before it hits the main page.
plus there is a much smaller pool of people looking at the thread pre-green – the TF farktog crowd is not all that big (yet! soon we will expand and slowly take over the known universe, excluding gary, IN.).

Participantwow, i think i’m negative on the geek score.
*looks at single computer*
oh well, works for me. 🙂 i would have no idea what to do with all that hardware.
renko – where do you get your film hardware? i’d like to get a medium format setup but don’t have big bucks. any ideas?
monkeybort
Participantactually i think the leaders at greenlight time only had 4-5 votes…..:P but farktog is responsible for a lot of us totalfarkers, so you wouldn’t be the first!
i got it for the regular contest time. hated waiting for it to go green.
