ParticipantI don’t have a problem with it. Walks like a duck, talks like a duck, must be a duck… It’s an image captured with an image capturing device. That is a photograph as far as I’m concerned.

ParticipantSometimes I feel like you guys are trying to make my husband set the house on fire…
Just setting the house on fire is too tame…I want to be able to see the fireball from my house!

ParticipantI don’t know what it did for my photography, but it did make me think about taking a photo every day. I also like that I can look back at that set and have a record of every day from the year 2009. Thats the coolest thing about it I think.

ParticipantI haven’t joined any groups this year like I did in 09. This time I am just doing it for myself.

ParticipantNBD
I see:
No gloves
welding next to aerosol (x4)
Loose clothes
nearby rags
Grounding wire laying across the exhaust pipe
….and is he welding in his lap?/At least his mask is down.
All that and no gloves… If a day goes by that I don’t have to yell at him for doing something unsafe it’s a miracle. Oh to be that young and invincible again… The kids a great welder but no common sense!
He was welding on the floor before I yelled at him to move the pipe to the bench. After I took the shot I made him clean the work area before he blew us all up.

ParticipantNice! Congrats on the camera!
AE-1 uses FD lenses and you will need an adapter to use regular 4/3 lenses on the M4/3.
Let me now how you like it. I’ve been eying them as a replacement to my Canon g10nobigdeal
ParticipantMoney was tight this year so we decided to forgo gifts for each other and just focus on the grandkids. So no new photo toys this year.

ParticipantI stopped just short of completely deleting her (which would have deleted her comments too, I think), so we could look back and lol.
LOL!

ParticipantThe 5DII is an amazing piece of equipment. I would love one but I know that I would then have to upgrade all my lenses! As for the 60D/7D, I would use the video, that’s part of the appeal of the D7000, full time autofocus in video mode.

ParticipantYea very clear, very cold (I think it was about 11 degrees) January night. the level of detail was achieved using live view magnified to the max to focus. I am wondering if you can use RemoteCapture in Camera Window in the canon utilities as a live view? I know I can with my 40D.

ParticipantI love my 40D but there is no comparison to the 50D. For me the higher ISO makes the difference. I am looking to upgrade to a 7D very soon but I have also looked at the 60D seriously. My advice would be to bypass the 50D and jump to the 60. For the price difference you get much more camera although the body being plastic on the 60D is a bit of a turnoff for me. But I suppose there is a tradeoff of all those features versus keeping the cost down.
(I’ve even been considering jumping ship to Nikon…that D7000 is a pretty sweet unit! But don’t tell anybody)

ParticipantI use live view on my camera for moon shot focus. I could never ever manually focus through the viewfinder.
