ParticipantNot really a B-side, but more of an homage to my long-suffering wife:

ParticipantAll hail Lord Helmet!
It’s subtle, but funny as hell.
/my subtle pics never do so well FWIWolavf
ParticipantBonus: snared another Farktographer into posting 😀
FYI: you snared at least one more, starting with this contest. I have my first three farktography pics ever, ready to go!
I played flute since 2nd grade, piccolo from 7th grade on, and I’m not too shabby on the piano, alto sax, and clarinet. Now I’m teaching myself to play guitar.
Never could quite figure out the brass instruments, although my dad and sister played trombone and my bro played trumpet. Mom played clarinet. We all sing. Could’ve been the von Trapp family 🙂
Cool 😀 Welcome to the addiction, and have fun!

ParticipantI’d consider a cover page w/title, and fanning out the composition so that only the clef and some of the notes on each page are shown? That could give a similar effect without releasing any of your IP

ParticipantMmmm musicals. Pit Orchestra was the best, most fun ensemble ever.
now, if it were a mosh pit orchestra…

ParticipantI love that video.
Weird how pic ideas come up though, isn’t it? I’d posted a note on FB earlier this week musing about a prop that I’m trying to find for an upcoming contest that’s going to require some planning, and probably multiple takes, and one of my friends made a comment, that led me to have an idea for this contest.

Participanthah! I know better than to sing 😉
I should know better, but it is just so much fun belting out (out-of-tune) tunes 😀
/Off to karaoke tomorrow night … maybe I should take the camera 😀
lol! Last time I tried that I picked a Harry Connick rendition of a Sinatra tune. Right words, wrong tempo. It threw my off so badly I couldn’t even finish :/
I think I’m best saving my singing for the corner of the bar on a Friday night. It’s supposed to be loud, it’s supposed to be out of tune, and it might even be a Merle Haggard song.

ParticipantOoooh….what about *good* karaoke?
You are doing it wrong, you obviously need more alcohol 😛
hah! I know better than to sing 😉
I mean, I can croon a bit, and I’ve been told that with some lessons, I’d make a decent basso, but honestly, I’m not sure I can even give Jimmy Durante justice…
/leaves the singing to other folks. Now my ex, she can *sing*. classically trained soprano… could have been a coloratura if she hadn’t taken a hiatus.

ParticipantIs there anyone here who isn’t a musician? (Not me, it’s what I studied at university….)
Raises hand.
Not a musician, just a music lover
Same here. Self-taught on a church organ my folks had, but never really, really serious about it, and that’s been a lot of years…
/Side note, I just had a cool idea for this contest. Question is, can I get the instrument and the people together in time 😛

ParticipantAlso does playing the drums on rockband count?
Only if piss-poor karaoke counts. Or {insert “I made some pretty spectacular sounds come out of your mom” joke here} counts.
/Edited for bbcode fail.
Ooooh….what about *good* karaoke?

ParticipantI forced myself to take an artistic night tonight, real world be-damned. Not expecting much, but at least composing the bachelor pad was fun. Too bad I couldn’t get the hands to line up quite right where I tried to arm wrestle myself.
It was fun doing stuffs, but I had a helluva time getting my head even remotely around it. I mean, I generally shoot for minimal editing of my stuff.

ParticipantWhat I didn’t use:
Color-popping bananas: http://65.78.140.207/TF/farktography/091014.software/bananas-selective-1478_sm_web.jpg
Counselor’s glass: http://65.78.140.207/TF/farktography/091014.software/counsellor_glass-2248-alt_sm_web.jpg
(a bit too ‘shoppy’ for my taste)
Multi-layer moon: http://65.78.140.207/TF/farktography/091014.software/moon-2337_sm_web.jpg
And Brooke: http://65.78.140.207/TF/farktography/091014.software/brooke-2039_sm_web.JPG
which is really mostly about the white balance, as seen in the original:

ParticipantI completely spaced out last night and didn’t put scaled originals in my web folder, so unfortunately no linking from me either. I think all three it’s pretty easy to tell what’s going on, and I put together a one-liner at the bottom of each of my posts instead. The only pic that really needed it to appreciate what was done I decided was a B-side anyhow.

ParticipantFWIW I’ve counted out the last eight contests. Averages per contest and extrapolation are as follows:
Top 10: 11.13 *52 = 578.5 (images for the year)
Top 15: 16.63 *52 = 864.5
Top 20: 21.25 *52 = 1105*edit: I can break this down further, or keep the spreadsheet available on the web if needed.

ParticipantDepends on which way we want to go with it, really. If it’s something contest-themed, we should probably include the winners. Otherwise, if we’re doing a free-for-all that’s okay too, but we’re going to need to have some talk about how we’d want to organize it.
