That’s part of it, yes. The other thing is that that’s actually the bottom side of the leaf, which would’t get rained on at all normally. The rougher underside of the leaves holds water droplets a lot better than the shiny top sides, so I picked an upside down one from the ground and held it up like it might be hanging on a tree, but it totally wasn’t.

I plan on using a similar shot in Autumn II. I took a dozen pics of the upside of the leaf on the ground, then turned it over and took a dozen more, and liked the underside better. Mine is aspen, though, rather than oak.

Our wedding is next May but we were civilly married on Saturday because orionid is in the Navy and for many reasons it was beneficial not to wait that long. Due to my work and the kind of wedding we want to have it wasn’t possible to move up our wedding date.

There’s a joke in here about gay civil unions/marriage and the end of the world, and Connecticut, and probably the Navy, too. 😆

I’ll be damned if I can think of it, at the moment. 😥

Query: Have you selected a photographer for the wedding? Because of all people, I’d think you as a couple would be the type of customer only someone who really knew photography would want to shoot for–talk about high expectations!! And I was just wondering who that person might be. ❓

I clicked the ‘Injun country’ file, too. The shot with the moon and the pillars? A very similar shot (they called them the 3 sisters) and the moon was just in Az Highways Magazine this past month.

That’s a nice shot. Rainbows are so incredibly hard to capture on film and yet do justice to them. I can just make out the 2ndary in your shot, which is usually my ‘fail’.

I did indeed, but I only took shots for a panoramic; I was in a big hurry (only there 15 minutes), it was a get-in-get-out kinda deal. No pano’s allowed this time. I was hoping to use it for Volcanos, mtns, & waterfalls, but it was determined meteor craters aren’t good enough.

*sigh* I’ll use it somewhere, someday.

I felt really confident going into this contest, as I really like all three of my shots, but as usual, the competition is fierce with others’ really great shots.

Me, too, sleeping. It took almost two years for the first 10k, then I found Farktography last February and took the other 15k (but now I take much better pictures, I like to think.)
