ParticipantHow much did the bag o Crap cost ya? I spent 10 minutes reading up on the site but they don’t mention the BoCs (I’m guessing it’s their leftovers).

ParticipantWah, wah, wa’a’a’ahhhh
I’m sure yours is excellent. 😥 😛
Is that the “Wah, wah, wa’a’a’ahhhh” of adult characters in the Peanuts cartoons, or rather the one from Debbie Downer on SNL?
//context is important.

Participant‘Tubes’ was going to be one of the things I was going to go for, but I couldn’t access operational tubes in time. And without the glow, they’re just an empty vacuum. Oh, well.

ParticipantThis proved to be more of a challenge than I originally thought. I finally got my three, but it was difficult to get three I liked. Whether anyone else will like them is to be seen. There are no Bs to speak of. Well, maybe one B.

ParticipantI laughed when I read his lawyer’s name.

I don’t know if it’s the angle, but you look a bit like a younger Hugh Laurie in that picture, even though the hair colour is wrong.Maybe I’ll try that next year. God knows the hair color won’t be as difficult to get~ 😥

ParticipantThis year I went a little overboard and did Sue Sylvester from ‘Glee’. Bleached my hair and everything (and the bleaching thing wasn’t easy–apparently I have a lot of red in my hair that just wouldn’t come out–but such is life.) All I have is a crappy cell phone picture, though; tried to have a neighbor take some and she turns out to be incapable of photography–even on auto. Sheesh.
Anywho, it’s my first time (and probably last) in drag.

ParticipantTherein lies the rub. What is art? (Let me find my turtleneck and beret, pack a bowl and put on small dark glasses.) While photography is art, not all photography is art. I take a lot of stuff that accurately depicts the reality I perceive, I tend to think of “art” as an interpretation of filtered through my conscious world view. Sometimes that is how I perceived something, sometimes it how I present what I perceived. Thus my question about HDR, it wasn’t about playing with something cool (even though it is cool and fun to play with) but about how I use that tool to create an artistic vision of the reality I’ve photographed. (smokes) Whoa! That was, like, deep, man.
Dude. [inhales deeply] I totally dig this, man! Far out.

ParticipantWow, caradoc, that would be awesome to have! *yet another thing to save up for.*
orinid, I had just figured he’d have the camera mounted onto a fairly large-scale model railroad track bits, with other odd bits and pieces needed to control the camera. By ‘fairly large’ I’m thinking amybe G gauge(/scale); I mean, they guy’s camera can’t be THAT huge, and given balance and the fact it would be moving VERY slowly….
But that’s just a thought. Not like I’ve ever done such imaging.

ParticipantIs it too early yet for the b’s?

I found it remarkable how often lichenscapes looked much like undersea scapes. But ultimately, I wanted more variety than just lichen.
I think your Darlot lens amplifies the effect. The edge distortion is similar to the distortion caused by off-center water in underwater point and shoots.
Probably true. The distortion is worse when utilized at my highest possible magnification (about 1.2 cms across), of which many of those shots were taken.

ParticipantWell I know I won’t be able to attend, but perhaps an address to send a card to would be appropriate?

ParticipantThis is good, too:

and this puts my ‘new moon’ picture to shame:

ParticipantWhen the moon rises as far north of me as it can, I need to try and remember to get the camera out and get a plane crossing the moon’s face. I’ve thought about this a few times (happens that today would be the day, so I’ll remember tonight.) Technically, with as often as planes land at Sky Harbor, one of them should cross the face eventually. Their flight path in when the wind is from the west should make this doable.
