Oooh, kewl! I got to see the Scar-r-r-rlet R page!! Henry Hill, whom I believe is a semi-frequent submitter. Hackhix is a hiccup from the failed 1st post. Nifty. 🙂

For those of you who aren’t facebook friends – check this shiat out. I copied my last status about the $3000 musky I caught today. 🙁

I went fishing today and, as usual, I had my camera and tripod in the boat. When the fish aren?t biting I?ll take photos. When the big fish bite, I take a photo of me holding it before release. I caught this guy today at Banner Marsh. With the fish in the net (still in the water) I set up my camera and tripod on the front seat. The, using the self timer, I took a pic of me and the fish sitting on the back seat. After the first one, I rushed forward and pushed the button for just one more pic. As I sort of ran to the back of the boat I heard a ?SPLASH? and got a sick feeling in my stomach. I turned and my camera was GONE. Just like in the movies, there were ripples and some bubbles where it went in. I must have rocked the boat enough and it just fell into the lake.

    I said, ?Oh f*ck!?.

I immediately released the fish (he did OK and slowly swam away) and sort of dug around with my net. No luck. I then stripped down and jumped in! I spent the next 20 minutes chest deep in weedy lake water holding onto the side of my boat ? feeling around with my toes. Nothing.

    Banner Marsh – 1, Ulle ? 0.

If you want to price check, it was a Canon 7D, EF-S 17-55 F/2.8 lens, 16 Gig Extreme IV CF card and a UV haze lens filter. Oh yeah, and a Manfrotto 725B tripod.

I’m never taking my camera in a boat again. I’d have nightmares. Sorry!

Apologies if the content of my photos offends anyone.

Offended, no. Concerned, yes. Hope you trump the blues; you know where to find me on FB.

I think that’s one of the best pictures you’ve ever taken. Congrats!

I can think of a better one (and I mean no disrespect to this one in the least). Visit his G+.

I dunno–I think it’s mainly about shadow and the anti-solar point. I have other shots–I think I’ll go with something else. But, Farktographer I appreciate the compliment!! 😀

I’ll use the shot in some future contest perhaps.

Rav – I still think shadow shots would be okay so long as it’s not overbearing. I love that shot, and think it could be an awesome entry.

Your theme, your call. I’ll put it back in for consideration. 🙂

I’m very fine with things as they are (“results aren’t final till the thread is closed, but at this point….”)

Yugoboy, I disagree–you’re an asset to our community, for it takes new perspectives to keep the rest of us on our toes. Without you, and the likes of you, the whole point would be lost, as real life intervenes, farktographers get published and move one, and other things happen that subtract from the community.

You’re our fresh meat at the deli counter.

    //not that there’s anything wrong with that….

//agree, Else, on the closing thread thing. Esp. like this week, where it went back and forth. But if anyone could wield the power with justice, it’d be you. Problem being some 1st timer with that ‘grand’ shot, in 2nd place.

Haha, no–police departments regularly attend these things for recruits, to bump their ‘diversity’ numbers.

    Sad, huh?

And speaking of sad, I won’t be doing this. Phoenix is slow, and I can’t get the documents I needed in time to apply before the fee gets jacked up to 1.5 times the amount–which puts it out of my budget.

    Oh, well. Maybe next year.

U-Man Cave Creek is about an hour’s drive from where I live, but caradoc is much closer, IIRC. I won’t be going–I work the weekends, unfortunately–and the night shift, at that. (Well…if we don’t do a fab shutdown in December, maybe I’ll take a vacay day).

//I considered this, but given Farktographer post, am deciding against it. But I still like. Today’s excursion into photography. If anyone spots a mountain lion in the shot–can you let me know?

This one reminds me of the scene where Duncan Idaho climbs the wall in “God Emperor of Dune”. Karakul hair and all. Woof.
