ParticipantThanks, I hadn’t thought to go tighter. I’ll try it and see what I come up with.

ParticipantQuestion for you guys, I’ve got his picture but I’m having a hard time figuring out a crop that helps illustrate the height of the falls (300+ feet) AND keeps it in a semi panoramic aspect ratio. Any suggestions?
Super-Biggie-Size stitched original ~5MB
Favorite crop thus far:

Also, is it considered bad photo-fu to post panoramas that have black or white chunks of missing picture in them?

ParticipantI’ve found that a small spray bottle of glass cleaner and a rag go a long ways towards getting a clean shot – especially if you’re behind one of the school groups who’ve smeared their hands and noses all over the glass.

ParticipantThat’s incredible, I knew we were gonna fly past epic when we hit 300+ entries on Wednesday night.
What can we do to help keep those boobies from becoming wieners? Anything?

ParticipantVery cool. Thanks for all the work you put into that monstrosity we call the FSM.

ParticipantYou hit it right on the head Schnee.

ParticipantThe last part seems kind of wordy, how about:
* Combining exposures in post-processing is not allowed. However, multiple exposures produced in-camera are always acceptable.

ParticipantE Don’t worry about it – I assumed I was going crazy,* sometimes it’s nice to know that the issue isn’t my head.
*This shouldn’t be construed to be saying that I’m not crazy, I rather enjoy my insanity.

ParticipantAm I just crazy or has the “This weeks contest is ____, Links: (here), {here}, and [here]” banner been missing for a couple weeks?
RcMacStudent
ParticipantSilverStag, you do realize this thread is going to go ballistic on Fark, right? 😆
I think the real question is: do you think we could get Fark to fark itself if we got a banner ad rotating on the main page for the week preceding the contest?

ParticipantCount one vote for towed glider = flying.
I’ll second.

Participantoh sorry about that, what size should i bring them down to? or is it okay if i just do links?
Posting links is fine.
If you save your pictures as a .jpeg and resize them to 600-800 pixels (on the long side) it will be much smaller than the .png’s you’ve been using.
Or you can upload the full size pictures to a web service like Flickr and just post a smaller size in the forums.

ParticipantMy first time trying to shoot fireworks, I like them anyways… Does anyone have any tips on avoiding lens flare when shooting fireworks?

Participantdamn, wrong thread….
No worries, that happens to all of us from time to time. 😀
FYI: If you look at your own posts there’s a little X-out button in the lower right hand corner that lets you delete your own posts.
Nice photo BTW.

ParticipantAnalogy: I hadn’t thought of that but it makes sense.
linguine: No, I haven’t done anything with it in PS except to crop and resize. I’ll probably try that and see if I can find anything that’ll look remotely natural but it’s more for the experience than anything else as I don’t particularly care for the picture.
