“Soosh has an amazing collection of Alaska pics, focusing frequently on water both liquid and frozen”Like usual, I’ll probably vote for them.
oh, fantastic, I’ve become a cliche.

ParticipantAlaska has shit for windmills. I doubt I’ll have an entry for this one.

Participantnot that I have anything that would fit, but would yellow as in “coward” fit the theme?

ParticipantHoly crap, congrats again soosh. That’s great (that you made the cover, not that stuff burned down).
That is pretty cool soosh, but I think mofo is onto something here. Did you light the fire to set up the shot? I’m pretty sure that’s against the rules.
Ha, no, I’m no firebug. I mean, come on, I would have at least set it in time for the fire vs. ice contest.
I’m really glad I hadn’t followed through with my earlier plans, which would have put me on the other side of the fire, where I wouldn’t have been able to get home until 6am or so. As it was, I was stuck without being able to go out from town to get any good night shots. Ah the joys of living in a place with only one main road running between the ocean and the mountains.

ParticipantHeresy! Winners are immortalized at the FSM! Fame, a prize beyond riches.
hehe so true. And the FSM is seriously, ridiculously awesome. Thanks as always for keeping that going![/quote]
Indeed!
Damn, I had a couple of good ones for this contest but yesterday hit me like a train and didn’t let up until way early this morning.
Did get a picture on the front page of the paper Sunday morning:

Participanttake a look at coppermine It’s what I’ve been using for my site at sacredartichoke for more than five years, and it’s really pretty good.
If anybody would like help in getting a coppermine gallery set up, let me know – I’d be glad to help as much as I can.

ParticipantGot a call at 5:45am this morning (one of the joys of living in the Alaska Time Zone) with an urgent request that we get this finalized today. It’s done. They’ve accepted my licensing agreement and have the image and the photo editor has promised that she will be taking a close look at the rest of my work.
By the way, I got awesome advice from a guy on photo.net, who provided me with licensing terminology I never would have come up with on my own. Here is what I sent them. Feel free to save it and use an altered version should you ever have a similar sale:

ParticipantWet highways are some of the most photogenic. There are some movies where the directors have the streets wet for the entire movie even though there’s no rain at any point.
Hope you get some shots.
