ParticipantAlthough, I’ll admit that I recently had big problems with my 7D. I took it fishing one day and it just stopped working. It hasn’t worked since.

ParticipantThat is a loooong story about why I switch from nikon to canon after shooting nikon film bodies for about 20 years.
I read the story with joy in my heart. I’m not joyful because of your bad experience. I’m joyful of the platinum lining of that black cloud. 🙂
Do you have an ‘L’ telephoto for your Canon? Any recommendations?

ParticipantThanks Els. I figured life was getting in the way.

ParticipantU-man it’s got emotion in spades. That it’s such a complex range is maybe the only thing I can say against it. Grab, yes. Tells a story in a single frame, yes. Emotion, yes. Even if it’s not a winner, it’s one I’d be more than happy to have done myself.
/and I’ll vote for it
Thanks, man.

ParticipantI love that one U-man. Like, a lot.
Were it me, I’d pick one of the many emotions in there and use it over the draw board one. But, keep the ‘divorce’ title as well.
So, don’t do that, because it’ll fail because I’d do it 😉
You know what? I agree. It’s a bit blatant but that can work sometimes. It has some instant-grab.
Elsinore, I am about to post the divorce one. Will you please delete the magna doodle sad face pic? Uuuuum…08:02:41 PM

ParticipantBy the way, I did another one last minute. It’s OK but not great. Anybody like it better than anything else?

ParticipantAfter a long week that isn’t over yet, I came here to find out what this week’s theme is. I got nothing picked and nothing planned.
Too bad you didn’t get a shot of your face the moment you realized that your camera just fell overboard!
What? Too soon? LOL! 😉
Surprise! Shock! Disbelief! — All with my front teeth on my lower lip making an “F” sound at the beginning of word.
Naaaa. Not too soon.
I might be able to sneak away from work around 3 or 4 this afternoon. It’s yucky rainy weather here but I am trying to decide if I go musky fishing ’til dark or go home and try some emotion pics.

ParticipantGrab a kid, tell him he’s getting a motorcycle, then tell him it’s from the make a wish foundation,.. and.. well, you know…
Then tell him you’re just kidding and laugh maniacally. There are your three shots, shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes.Sadly, I am not above being a *little* bit mean to my kids for a shot. Although I haven’t done anything specific for this one, I have an idea…

ParticipantSome weeks I look at the pics in front of mine and think to myself, “Geez. Mine is as good as that one.” Not this week. There were so many good entries and Aspidites certainly deserve to lead the pack.
Asp‘ – do you have really good long lenses or good technique or what?… Those eagles just POP. I swear that they look like you used a flash.

ParticipantI was told that there would be no math.

Participantcan we attribute emotion to animals? the happy or sad dog?
I’m positive that animals have emotion. Sure. Why not?

ParticipantSo long as the planes are in the air and you don’t get arrested, or shot, sure. 😉
aspidites that’s more the answer i was looking for. thank you for yours though. there is public parking right along the beach and i’d bet that with some judicious aiming i could look like i was shooting scenic shots or seagulls and get planes in the background.
but in this day and age and for a farktography contest it’s not worth pushing the boundary.
As some of the Facebooking farktographers know, I recently had the blue and red flashers behind my vehicle while photographing two water towers right next to a federal prison. That dude was there in, like, two minutes. It all turned out OK but it was uncomfortable.
A phone call beforehand is likely a good idea.
