Well, I didn’t say I purchased it for me. My wife went into business with a friend and needed a uniform version for the two of them. I bought CS5 through the university I am affiliated with. They use that. I still use CS4.

PS I don’t know how to click for bigger. I use flickers HTML but it doesn’t seem to link.

Causel’s is probably easier, but I copy and paste the address of the 640 px as well as the larger version to the scratchpad. I then use the ‘Image’ tool for the first one and the ‘Link (new window)’ tool for the larger one. I then cut and paste the first one into the “Link” part of the second one.

Clear as mud? Good.

My $0.02 –

I like titles and short captions.
640 px wide is too small to really show off a photo. If a photo is good enough, it should be able to stand up to the larger size challenge.
I have no problem with no captions this week.
A ‘Click for larger’ is not a caption. It is an option.
Part of film photography art was/is developing. Part of digital photography art is post-processing.
Like Olavf, I really like the serious, technical, good-eye photography mixed with goofiness and a touch of vote-whoring that is farktography.

As stated, this is opinion. Not fact. 😉

I personally believe that some of my better photos were shot with my 3mp point and shoot. I think I spend more time dicking around with my camera settings and swapping crap lenses around now and not taking pictures for fun.

What does this mean? My hunch is that we’ve got a lot of people looking at the contests, but not a whole lot of people bothering to vote these days.

That could well be true.
I hope we don’t go the way of Photoshop themes, which now generally seem to be lowly populated in terms of entrants, low-vote garners, and–I suspect–low in terms of views.

The PS contests were my introduction to Fark. They’re what made me come here. I played there for a while but it was chewing up my sleep time too much.

Interesting conversation. I appreciate your ‘lurker’ input, CauselSaidSo. It’s a different take on the situation. I also appreciate that others have felt less interest, less fire. I have had that feeling a bit over the last year or so. Some weeks it feels more like work that play. But not many weeks. And I’m still enjoying myself here with you all. I’ll be around for a while.

/maybe it’s like the marriage after the dating. Still good, better in lots of ways, but less fireworks. 🙂
