I’m definitely willing to do some HDR.

ennuipoet – I totally agree. I have one in particular that is strikingly better as HDR. I was thinking of making a link to it but decided against that. I’ll let it stand on it’s own.

I am finding the 640 px width limit frustrating this week. Panoramic-type crops just don’t work well with the small size. As usual, I’ll link to large images – but the small pic needs to be good enough to get a nibble.

Last summer (maybe two summers ago) I was driving and the sunset way cool. I stopped and took some pics. But, I had o get someplace and didn’t stay until it set. Then, while I was driving two minutes later, the damn sun did this. (Taken while driving.)

By the time I had stopped again, the swirly coolosity had passed and it was just a regular pretty orange sunset again. *sigh*

I might use one. Sunsets are just so much easier.

One thing these contests do for me – they make me go though all of the photos I have accumulated. After the past few themes I have come to the conclusion that I take a fuck-load of pics. I have 15 or so possibles and keep finding more.

…but finding a line for what’s abstract vs what isn’t will almost certainly be impossible.

That point was in my head. But I didn’t make it.:) I think we should aim at the wiki definition and accept a broad interpretation –> and then let the voters decide.

The examples that olavf provided speak to me. They say, “look at the incredibly cool shiat you can do with a camera and a nicely twisted imagination.”

I notice that many of the images I found are heavily photoshopped. Should we include a rule reminder? Or is the description getting too big already?

I agree with both of you. That was my opinion before doing a little googling. It seems many people out there use a broader definition.

IMO we have to use a broad definition and it will be interesting to see what our voters think. I have a few things in my files and have an idea or two. They are all subject-less.
