As long as you don’t make an ass of yourself and the place is empty enough, you can easily go down front and shoot a few shots before anyone gives you any crap. The nice thing about this approach is that you keep moving and get shots from a variety of angles.
… and I know EXACTLY what you mean about high ISO and having to post-process for it. A smidgen of “Smart Blur” can go a long way to rectifying this, as well.

I’ll accept either answer..ParticipantI’ve got everything I need for a B&W darkroom except the chemicals, but the ease of digital has made me just leave all that stuff alone. Makes me sad sometimes, but then I think about all the time I don’t have and I get over it. I’m never selling the stuff, though… I’ll be retired someday.

Separate issue: Barracuda is going to be the nice guy to OBO my birds. I told him when I sent the code via PM I would not expect him to break any rules. He suggested he hasn’t seen any rule about an OBO and timing when poster is TF and absent Farktographer is not. Clarification would be welcome so we make sure not to irritate anyone or violate any rules we aren’t aware of.

ParticipantAfter uploading and checking out all the other entries (good stuff!!!) I’m glad I went with something besides the flowers. Would have been three (at least).
I certainly considered this before composing mine (from TIFs, 183Mb images take a LOOOOONG time to save!). But in the end, its the only other subject where I know where in my drive to find all the images, besides the astro-stuff. I’d be a-huntin’ pecker elsewise. I figured it would be up against a lot, though; went b/w to ‘stand out’. Yeah, hows that working out for me? 😥
Based on the fact that my substitution for the flower entry has got a total of 1 vote (and it’s not my vote) I think I maybe miscalculated.
Oh well…. a whole 5 votes each for the other 2… and one of ’em was out and out pandering for votes (the military graves one)…

ParticipantThose of you who waited too long to do this and encountered difficulties figuring out layers and other elements of PS/PSElements, feel free to start a little earlier next time and those of us with a bit more experience mangling images will be happy to walk you through it. It’s not hard once you figure out layers. (Hint: if you’ve got experience with PowerPoint &/or Publisher you’ll have no problem.)

ParticipantI can’t imagine anyone thinking anything I do is interesting enough to read Tweets about. Of course, think that’s true of most of us, and even most of the celebs who are on there as well.
Honestly, except for the President and some of his cabinet (not all), a few governors, and the occasional athlete involved in individual sports (boxing, tennis, golf, etc) I can’t think of anyone who’s life is interesting enough to listen to that regularly and tediously. When I read some of the Tweets that have made news, it is abundantly clear that a number of the people on Twitter have poor judgement and should have stopped posting long ago.

ParticipantWell, thank you for the lakes and ponds. The closest I’ll possibly have is a few pics of the Mediterranean from Naples, and honestly, those aren’t all that good… got plenty of Adirondack ponds and lakes, though!

I’ve been shooting for this the last couple days… I’ve focused on the words “Tiny” and “Land”. YMMV
However, the church I stopped at after school today also had a small koi/goldfish pond with water lilies. Can I use these, or does the water say “pick some other contest”? I”m good either way, just wondering.
