It eventually started functioning normally for me. I deleted about half the photos that were there this morning, from 1000+ to about 500 images now. I’m not saying what’s left there now is “gold Jerry, gold!” … but I think I managed to remove the most cringe-worthy ones 🙂

ravnostic,I liked the comet photo (had it pegged early on as the winner, actually) and was wondering how you did the effect. I think I see a pair of hands near the bottom of the comet head–and I would guess a lit match to provide the flaming tail? Am I close here, or completely off-track?December 13, 2012 at 10:57 pm #49691Zero_ExponentParticipantSince I’m already OBO’ing, I’ll throw yours in as well, Zero.
Muchas gracias!

While re-reading the description for this, an old album cover came to mind:
/which in turn reminds me of REM’s “Its the End Of the World as we Know It (And I Feel Fine)”November 2, 2012 at 4:14 pm #49428Zero_ExponentParticipantVery impressive work, rav! I don’t know a ton about astrophotography, but I know that it takes a lot of time, money, and hard work to get results like you’re getting.
October 17, 2012 at 7:28 pm #48986Zero_ExponentParticipantJust browsed through the book, some amazing stuff in there ( some of it already familiar–hey I remember that one…)!
Faves include boobs vs moobs, the kid giving the double bird, and of course the cover.
October 17, 2012 at 7:16 pm #48983Zero_ExponentParticipantGood for you, CFA! Nice photo that evokes a “chillin” vibe.
September 30, 2012 at 4:04 pm #48611Zero_ExponentParticipantEnnuipoet and CISS wound up in a three-way with Elsinore last night? If that doesn’t put a big smile on those guys faces, I don’t know what will 😆
September 25, 2012 at 9:26 pm #48555Zero_ExponentParticipantSo is anyone else having way too much fun with this one? Narrowing it down to 3 is going to be really tough.
I had fun with this one. I predict a very trippy contest.
guine I’m pretty sure any subject is allowed. I hope so, because 2/3 of my picks are not landscapes.

August 30, 2012 at 9:50 pm #48401Zero_ExponentParticipantThanks Els! Lots of entries for this one. Good stuff.
Bender, I was thinking of entering a train bridge as a third entry:
Rusty Cage by Exponential Photography, on Flickr… I’m glad I decided against it, cuz your bridge is definitely nicer; not to mention more “vanishing pointy” 🙂
August 30, 2012 at 4:40 am #48356Zero_ExponentParticipantElsinore could you vote-enable my first photo please?
August 30, 2012 at 3:34 am #48396Zero_ExponentParticipantDepends on one’s talents how much would vanish, I would think. ;o)
Bazinga! Haven’t seen the canyon shot yet but it’s more than likely a good one, judging on your past performances.
Barracuda and Bender, if those are your B’s, the A’s must be really cool! I’ll see in 1/2 hour when I post.
August 29, 2012 at 11:16 pm #48378Zero_ExponentParticipantOh rav, you got something against straight things?
I mean, I won’t be whipping out my ruler to check–but I would think straightish lines are needed to establish the vanishing point(s)?August 29, 2012 at 10:11 pm #48376Zero_ExponentParticipantFor this theme, Pickerel I`d say One Lane Bridge.
Bender, that`s not vanishing point perspective AFAIK. I remember learning this in art class … diagrams probably explain better than I can:
… so anything with straight lines that converge is the idea, I reckon.
