ParticipantThat’s funny. I thought about making a post to let Els know there were a lot of Scarlet R’s this week but decided she probably has enough on her plate without my BS. 🙂

ParticipantFor you chart lovers out there, this one’s trending nicely too:

ParticipantWell done to both of you guys, I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, so I voted for both of them 🙂
Just got back in town early this morning, so I’m late to this thread, but congrats to you both with echoes of SilverStag’s sentiment – I couldn’t see casting a vote for one over the other so I also voted for both.
On a stats note, I updated the chart in my previous post with the final results. This contest turned out nicely. #21 overall, #7 in the past year.

Participant^^ What he said. Also, how does one get such sharp focus with that lens when everything I’ve read says you need a rail system because even tiny changes in distance result in sharp changes in focus?

ParticipantRe: picking shots, I see this contest as kind of the “victory lap” for your previous year so I don’t consider new shots at all.
This. I also view it as an opportunity to see how a particular shot fares in general, i.e. outside of its specific contest.
And thanks again for the OBO, Kestrana.

ParticipantThat’s pretty cool, orionid. You really are a MacGuyver of the camera world. I especially like the extra touch of the screw-on cap.

ParticipantEven embiggened I’m not spotting the obvious unusual, rav. You may have to give us a hint…
The quirk in my entries this week is that all three are from a point ‘n shoot. None of my dslr shots really grabbed me, so I went with them. Granted, it was a pretty decent PnS for its time (Canon G2).

ParticipantThanks, Kes, I appreciate it! I’ll PM you the links.
And I’d be happy to OBO for you on either of those dates, assuming of course that you don’t mind the stench of ‘liter on your entries. 😆

ParticipantGlad you guys like the charts. I just updated that one and as you can now see, we’ve already hit our average contest total and we’ve still got 2+ days to go!
Happy 100th, Plama. Sucks about the elite & ultra, but we’re glad you’re at least active now. 😉 I just realized this week that my one-year anniversary is May 18th. Which also happens to be the day my first accepted theme goes live. Kinda an anniversary gift, if you will.
On another note, I’m taking my oldest to Vegas for his first time next week and will miss the start of the contest. Would anyone be willing to do an OBO for me?

ParticipantThis one’s trending towards an awesome finish:

ParticipantWelcome, JustHereForThePics! Some nice entries ya got there to start things off. I especially like the thunderhead.
A few bees here.

ParticipantI like Chicago #1, Farktographer.

ParticipantApplying kestrana‘s “would lack of clouds change the tone of the shot?” test to it, I’d say that that’s plenty cloudscapey, linguine.
CauseISaidSo
ParticipantFor example: the presence or absence of the clouds wouldn’t change the focus, subject or tone
I like that. That’s a good test criterion, I think.

ParticipantThat’s funny. Good catch, U-Man, I didn’t notice that.
I can identify, though, clouddancer – it’s either been completely overcast or sunny here so I haven’t had any opportunities for anything new and it’s gonna be all archives this week.
