ParticipantI’m in agreement with kashari, you do manage to fill the idle time with some neat pursuits, and ones that produce fascinating results to boot…

ParticipantHmmmm… found this in a thread:
The above error is not generated when I use 2010.2.0 and that version stitches just fine.
Try downloading 2010.2.0 and see what happens.
edit: I’m running 2010.0.0.5045 without issues, so a rollback might fix that for you. I’m not sure what version I have on the laptop, but I’ve been unable to select multiple files on it for input and have to drag and drop from a file browser window (same prob with Qtpfsgui on the lappy tho, so I’m guessing a shared library issue but I have yet to take time to track it down…).

ParticipantI don’t have access to a mac, but there seems to be a work-around using PTBatch to finalize the process using the .pto file created by Hugin…

It’s an extra step, but doesn’t seem like too much of a PITA…
This may be a silly suggestion (I’ve done this a lot in linux, but that’s, well, linux), but is compiling the source so it’s native to your OS version a possibility?

ParticipantYou folks are a real ego boost! 😆 Thanks!
Hopefully I’ll have some energy to do things tonight with a few images, but this is the first break I’ve had since 5AM today. I’m in my 12th hr at work. Ugh.chupathingie
ParticipantYou’re talking to a guy with a 4 1/4″ newt in the closet… 61″ is VERY impressive! My sister wanted to go see the Grand Canyon in July, and I think she might get a kick out of this as well… she’s turned into a bit of a science nerd in the past few years 😆

ParticipantThanks! 🙂
I’ve been using Hugin’s Panorama Creator in Ubuntu 10.10 (it has windows and mac ports as well). Most panoramas I feed through it need no intervention as long as the source images are in a single line. Multiple rows of images have always required me to add control points manually, which has become surprisingly quick now that I’m used to the interface. It will also handle large files, the 16-bit full-rez .exr version of that image was over 3gig.

ParticipantGratz!

Participantoh wow…. I may be able to get some time off in July, seeing as I just got back from 2 weeks in the rockies. Anyone wanna carpool in from the midwest? Get to Amarillo and I’ll split gas the rest of the way…

ParticipantVery cool! All I seem to get is friends egging me on to rent space at the local art walk… 😛

ParticipantNeat stuff… agreed on the manual focus! My eyes ain’t what they once were….

ParticipantSo rather than Craters of the moon we decided to take a hike over the ridge at a place called Gibson Jack. We never managed to get to the other side of the range. This gal considered us trespassers and ran us off. I swear this area is lousy with moose. We saw 3 others, and all I wanted to take time with on this one was a quick shot with the P&S. We didn’t even see this one til we were 30 feet away, she had her ears laid back and was walking right towards us…time to go.

ParticipantI really wish autobracketing went farther than 2 stops either way, and allowed a mode to adjust via ISO. I wonder if the hackers have an updated firmware yet for the 5DII…

ParticipantThanks folks 🙂
And yes, 3 shots composited in qtpfsgui. There’s just no way to get the gorge exposed without blowing out the sky unless you break out the bag of HDR tricks.

ParticipantGood lord, but the vid of the wall of water, debris, buildings, cars, etc is insane. Heartbreaking to watch it overtake cars trying to flee… 🙁
Here’s hoping all the farkers there check in soon…chupathingie
Participantheh… normally, by the time I get to take a break the delerium is already well on it’s way to insanity…
