    Hey Cuda,

Since no one’s chiming in here’s my $2e-2,..

Firstly it is a great photograph and presentation, reminds me of something you might find in the Cracker Barrel post card rack.
IIRC (the farktography rules), extensive borders and (software) vignetting are right out.
A literal interpretation of the contest description leads me to believe that we’re looking at sepia coloration only.

/Not my contest, I am not a modmin, IANAL, void where prohibited, actual value 0.02 dollars, void in all fifty states,…

    hunches, you got TF.

And apparently I have yet another to give away that I never used… so still two TF’s up from grabs between me and fluffybunny!

There may be as many as three per year per paid TF account IIRC and I just renewed mine.

Speaking of TF gifts, seems I’ve got one to give away. First Farktography Lite’r that responds gets it. 🙂

I can back that up with one of my own, so let’s make that a two-fer.

// Speaking of photos of ones kids, anyone know what’s up with U-Man & Mopsy’s absence of late?

    Been wondering that myself

Excellent opportunity Rav, I can see some of his style in your work (whether you’ve been studying him or not). How long do you have with him?

Going on six months with Zenfolio at this point. Exceptionally happy with it. Yes you have to pay but it’s reasonable (you can start with a trial if desired). Getting it going was probably the most trouble free straight forwards piece of technology work I have ever done. There are a couple of things I wish I’d realized when structuring the site but that’s my fault. This option would be quite good if you had a photography business, everything is oriented towards that goal. I have not sold a single thing and don’t care if I do but if I was a pro with my own shop, I would still be happy with them.

    /No outages yet

Excellent, here’s hoping you get the jorb!

(and I’m sure that if you do you won’t forget your farktography buddies if something good comes in,.. right?)

I like the simplicity of primes. I don’t need to worry about how much I want to zoom in or be very precise with the framing. I just take the wide shot and decide how to crop it later. The 28/1.8 is a nice normal length for APS-C sensors.

Yeah, I have thought about getting the Sigma 30mm/f1.4 prime for long time for all the reasons stated. Too many other things have come first, like the Sigma 100-300mm/f4. I am exceptionally happy with that lens. It has pretty much replaced my 70-200mm/f4 Canon L that I thought I would never give up.

Oh, I also picked up my gift to myself a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G. All I can say so far is that it will take a bit to get used to it. I’m not used to prime lenses at all.

Nothing like zooming with your feet!

I hope yule all find warmth and comfort in your lives in the coming year.
It just sleighs me to share in this little community.
Perhaps it’s Rudolph me to keep stringing these puns along,.

“All of you are bright, creative, kind and good people” once again, ennui has summed it up eloquently.

So to clarify, “text in image” (à la “Season’s Greetings”/image macros) or captioned below with HTML or either/both?

/For me, the description implies the former but I may be reading it wrong.

    Standard answer:

If I had one wish that I could wish this holiday season, it would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace.

/If I had two wishes that I could wish for this holiday season, the first first would be the crap about the kids.. and the second would be for high resolution 35mm negative and print scanner (suggestions on this topic are very much welcome).
