    So just to re-affirm I must ask,.. Viable, extinct, mythological and fictional are all OK? It seems like that’s the way many people are interpreting this just so long as it’s not the actual animal.

    I say offer “Zeke” a cameo role, let’s say as “Dr. Brackish Okun” who’s back story consists of black and white shaky cam cut scenes from his childhood that imply avant garde psychological experimentation on the neighborhood kids. He is mostly seen in the background fiddling with beakers and knobs and slide rules, but in the last two minutes he lets it slip that none of you are really in South America. Episode Two will start with the revelation that Dr. Okun has been trespassing in your dreams and has compromised your plan for world domination. While “Zeke” is busy in the make up tent, snatch the Uber Camera and retreat to headquarters.

    So, while the rest of you were out saving democracy from the menace of Nicaraguan drug cartels I found some mind fuel:

    Okay, it would suck among the voters; but just to qualify, if it’s called the “Wild Duck Cluster”, and I don’t see the duck, is it okay?

    Looks more like a rabbit to me.

    I see two 17th century Englishmen sipping tea.

    I normally stay up pretty late on Farktography night, but I’m wiped out tonight, sorry guys. I’ll check in on the thread in the morning; if you need anything urgently over night, feel free to send a farkback. I’ve scanned the thread and found only one un-envotinated entry (bob_ross), so I fixed that. Great stuff tonight, folks–catch you on the flip side!

    Hey El’s, I think he’s got four entries and had one “just for fun” without voting enabled,..

    on a related topic my biggest problem making entries for this contest is the “can’t use them later” part. i often shoot 3 or 4 frames that are (almost) indestinquishable but still hate to give up 20 x 3 just for one contest.

    Interesting, I went through the same “value analysis” and concluded to shoot (mostly) each series specifically for this theme. The interesting part for me is to see in myself and others, an assessment of the intangible value of one’s work. I mean we give it (our photographs) away “for free” (as in beer) but the value system attached to them appears to be complex. Needs moar study.

    /Too many parentheses
    //(too many)
    ///I pretty much always shoot specifically for the theme, but this time I made the decision to sacrifice 4 from the archive.
    ////I’ll never get them back.
    /////Too many slashies.
    //////(too many)

    Ah, I see. Excellent article none the less. I have been quite grateful over the years to find these little pools of knowledge scattered about the internets, from open source software to how to make your own xenon flash (current topic under study).

    I take you Nikonians don’t have micro adjust. I use it for my 100-300 Sigma and my 17-50 Tamron, made a big difference.

    I think I figured out an ideal name for this type of image. We’ve already done “triptych”, and normally we only allow a “monoptych” so this is 4 – 20,.. why don’t we call it “multiptych”?

    It’s easily pronounceable, rolls right off the tongue and everyone knows what it means!

    /It makes mounds and mounds of julienne fries.
    //It’s great for a snack and fits on your back.
