ParticipantThe whole thing is just unnecessarily complicated now imho

ParticipantDrew replied, said he did not know about the “unvoting” options and didn’t like that, and would check it out.

ParticipantConsidering Nikon just released info for both the 4D and D800 in the last month, Canon is going to need to release details about something soon, or risk losing out as both these cameras are getting great reviews so far from testers.

ParticipantSent an email back to Drew with this situation, and ennuipoet‘s and Elsinore‘s information.

Participant“readers looking to snag a lightly used d700 should be on high alert”. Yes. Yes. Yes. I really want a d700 especially since sleeping got one.

ParticipantWhew! I thought since the voting system went in, that I had seen photos of mine lose votes from when I had checked them earlier. Thought I was just starting to lose my mind (even more so).

ParticipantYeah, I was definitely hoping for a human-based contest, but I suppose I didn’t *exactly* specify that, so meh, we’ll let the voters choose. The one with the dog wasn’t what I was expecting either, but it’s blasting everyone out of the water in votes, so seems people like it.
I’m shocked to see it get so many votes. (I posted it because it was the only shot I had that fit the theme…and it was just cute enough that I didn’t think it would be embarrassing to post. 😕 )
Yugoboy’s Artist, U-man’s Dad & Daughter, and Kestrana’s Sunset Viewer are my favorites and far, far superior photos…
No worries KnightsFolly … fark voters, how do they work? can’t live with ’em, can’t shoot ’em 😀

ParticipantTrue. But that kinda goes without saying.

ParticipantIf you have a spare $25 and want style: http://www.amazon.com/Noted-STD-35e-Pinhole-Camera-STD35/dp/B000Q8Z83U
But shooting “through the lens” of another camera is pretty easy. It can be as uncomplicated as literally holding the lens up to your dslr and shooting through it although the results aren’t going to be as clear as an actual rig to hold the lens in place around your camera and block light leaks.

ParticipantI admit I voted for that one but it was mostly because of the story. It’s nice to see there are good people still in the world.

ParticipantOk – model releases are great when you can get them and a must for studio work. But you *do not* need them for people you meet on the street or other places where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy. Just think if paparazzi had to get releases from all the celebrities they take pictures of and then sell for profit…they don’t. And they don’t get sued for taking pictures in public, they get sued for harrassment and for doing things like peeping tom trying to photograph them in homes – where there IS an expectation of privacy.
