Participantorionid and I went to the Lewis Ginter winter lights show a couple weeks ago and were dumb and we both forgot to bring tripods so we ended up buying a carbon fiber manfrotto super-collapsible. Fully collapsed it’s about a foot long but it’s a full size tripod. The pistol grip took a little getting used to, but I think I like it better than my old tripod and it’s certainly lighter.

ParticipantWow some real stunners in there Plama good work!

ParticipantHeh plus we just did “let’s go shopping” photos of stores, so you would have been dipping into 2 categories! I guess great (or demented) minds think alike 😛

ParticipantYou guys will have to pick for me because my favorites =/= Fark voter favorites. But for orionid I think we can all look at this series and think it’s iconic.
I have a bias towards this one:

but this one is probably the best of the series

ParticipantI’ve been shocked by the electric fence before. This should be nothing new.

ParticipantOrdering through mpix itself doesn’t have a fee other than cost. I have an mpix pro account which is a little more complicated but you might want to look into that if you’re ordering a lot.
Kestrana
ParticipantI would definitey check out mpix. I love their quality, and they have options for virtually any sort of matting and framing, including metal prints, canvas, etc. For the art trail I would definitely charge 100% of cost.

ParticipantYoyo feel free to suggest any sort of theme you want. We’ve had plenty of themes that required much discussion.
Barracuda your av’s gone for me. Do you do G+ at all?

ParticipantTo post photos use the url inside [ img] [ /img] brackets (remove spaces). You’ll want to not have too large or too big of images to display properly.
As for a sitting fee, I would just cover the cost you incurred to travel to the location + maybe 25%.
For prints, it should cover the cost of the prints. Do you know where you’re getting the prints from? Mpix is a good place to check out. Whatever you charge, you probably want to strike a balance between reasonability and profit. For our wedding photos, the prints were ridiculous – like $4 for a 3×5. But be confident in your photos – they liked them so you deserve to get a fair amount of profit.
Prints for an art trail can be more expensive. Are you selling matted prints, framed prints, plain prints? Is it at an art fair or are they hanging at a gallery?
