I didn’t think we would seriously do an all-Japan theme but I needed an example of an extremely restrictive theme. I’ve wanted to suggest something like “Real America” however, especially since 4th of July is here, something like “what does America mean to you?” with apple pies and flag waving kids, etc. But we have a lot of people who don’t live in America that participate so I wouldn’t suggest a theme like that even if a lot of people might want to do it.

You could do something like a national pride theme to open it up to people in other counties.

Id assume using a tripod with cable release while driving would be fine since it just says it has to be a shot out the passenger side window. Im probably going to try to do that to.

Threadjack time.
Everybody, look at the kitties!

I’ve got a piece of gold-filtered welding glass.

I’ve taken quite a few shots of burning magnesium before without problem, and plenty of sparklers. I’ve yet to see any damage.

Cool. Mine’s nasty green. I ended up just springing for an actual solar filter.

In other regards,
Elsinore: Is this too much skin for Fark?

As far as I know rugbyjock hasnt been banned yet.

I usually just upload at 640 anymore, but thatll be useful for when I dont and decide to use a shot for farktography later and am feeling lazy about resizing it or its already after 8 when I realize that its the wrong size.

I just to say that I will NOT be posting photos of that Statue, primarily because I won’t go out there because of the tourists. I refuse to pay 25 bucks to be loaded like cattle onto a boat and then be herded through a tour of the SoL. I’ll shoot her from the surrounding shore, but I can’t stomach the thought of going to Liberty Island.

One of my first decent farktography entries came from one of those boat rides. Although it was facing back towards the city with my back to the statue.

The natural national monuments would fit in the parks theme, so people that want to enter those could vote for that theme.

OK so seeing QUICKSILVER posting in the thread freaked me out just a little till I realized it wasn’t Quick Silver…

Well that explains why he seemed like an old farktographer that I couldnt quite remember.

Hey ‘Guine I took this today stopped at a light on the way home. Was going to post it but decided not too.
Maybe should play the number 147 LOL!

Ha, although it took me a second to figure out that one of my numbers was probably 147 too.

[linguine]

Weird. Do they have a support email or something?

Yeah, Ive sent them a couple of emails, theyre starting to seem like dell tech support so maybe I just have to seem angry enough at them and theyll figure something out.
