ParticipantIs panning limited to a pivoting camera (more specifically, is running parallel okay)?
Wikipedia says panning can be rotation or horizontal movement of the camera.

ParticipantHeh. I had a hard time picking out of seven. I’ll post some ‘B’s later.
I decided to make it easy on myself and limit my choices to the pics Ive taken of a church thats been getting renovated. I probably left out a better picture or 2 that way but it saved a headache so I’ll call it even.

ParticipantCan we up the entry limit for this week?

Whats wrong with you people!!!! Worship me on MY day!!!!
I thought your birthday was yesterday and ended as soon as voting started. Meaning we’re off the hook. 😀

ParticipantMy reason for voting against the scanning thing is it seems like this would open up the door for a bunch of other options to be included. To me the scanning seems like a digital version of making something like photograms and I think it could lead to making it difficult to determine whats allowed and whats not if we start allowing a bunch of non-camera options to be used in normal contests. That said, I like soosh’s idea of doing a no camera contest where people get the chance to play around with these other options. I look at it as something along the lines of stitching and hdr where it can be fun but I’m not sure it should be included in normal contests.

ParticipantI’d lean towards saying using a scanner to create an image is leaning a little to far from photography for these contests.

ParticipantAre we allowed to state what’s missing in our entries?
Hmm, that actually gives me an idea. If captions are allowed is it ok that theyre just about required for figuring out whats missing. I hope I don’t have the exact same idea as you mopsy.

I really want to enter this guy but again it’s the posed thing. He was standing next to his car in the parking lot of the shopping mall obviously waiting for someone. Not too happy about it either. Can I use him? I have some other shots, but this is the best.
My vote is for that being fine to use.

ParticipantI have a question about the ‘Not Posed’ bit in the description. I understand why it’s there. But it might be one of those impossible-to-police issues.
To me, ennuipoet‘s example pic looks posed. But it also totally fits this theme. I have no problem if he uses it. But if that one is OK, then others like it would be OK too. Right?
/btw – none of my three run into this issue. I’m just trying to get ahead of any hurt feelings.
//am I beating a dead horse? Was this already talked about?
I think we decided it just can’t be people you know.

ParticipantI’d say that shot would work.

ParticipantUmmm You know what I just realized? The difficulty this week said specifically “No stained glass”. corsec67‘s image was of stained glass in the chapel ceiling…
I’d say it didn’t break the spirit of the difficulty because the architecture of the ceiling seemed to be the main focus of the picture and I took the difficulty as a means of just keeping people from photographing abstract stained glass.

ParticipantIn the discussion in the themes section we were allowing the source of the reflection to be in the picture. http://farktography.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=910&start=15

ParticipantI’d be fine with a switch.
