ParticipantMan, I was going to go out tomorrow and hunt for a chair or two – but that would just confuse me more.
Damn, you Americans…anything with four legs and you hunt it 😉
The above sentence is a fine example of why the written English language requires the comma
ha ha ha! So true on both points.

ParticipantIt sounds to me like you turned on the noise reduction option. I could very well be wrong though

ParticipantI would pretty much say the same thing soosh says.

ParticipantNo. The problem is the moisture tends to get on the lens while still in use. Even a 2 minute exposure and I need to clean off the fog that has accumulated. not needing air conditioning or heaters either one right now, just a huge county sized dehumidifier. I walk around feeling like a half wet sponge all day.

ParticipantThis discussion brings up an question, are people in or out for this contest? Since it hasn’t been stated I’m assuming it’s fine either way. U-Man can correct me if I’m wrong.
Surely people should be allowed for this one. I mean, sometimes who is sitting there defines the seat.
I sure hope so because 2 of my favorite choices are self portraits because the seats just “needed” somebody sitting there. I was also wondering about the nontraditional seats. Like a guy sitting on a natural rock overlooking the ocean

ParticipantMy pet peeve right now is humidity. I can get pretty far from city lights fairly easily it seems from my latest trip. I cannot escape the lens fogging humidity without moving. It has been 90+% humidity and 50ish degrees for weeks now. Day and night no more than a five degree change with no change at all to humidity.

ParticipantWhile we’re talking about stargazing, I’m guessing most of you probably already know about this, but I’ll throw it out there anyway just in case: If you’re interested in astronomy and you don’t have it already, do yourself a favor and download Stellarium (http://www.stellarium.org). It’s about the coolest open source app I’ve run across.
I had not heard of it but it seems to kick ass. Thank you very much. I was suffering a deficit of good astronomy programs. I love the price especially.

ParticipantI went out last night but it has been so humid here my camera fogs up after just a few minutes. I didn’t get any pics worth a damn. gonna go try again tonight maybe. if I can figure where to go to get above the dampness. I saw some nice long streaks last night but none on the camera.

ParticipantVery cool. And depressing at the same time…

ParticipantThe Mazda powered1990 Ford Escort I used to own drove like a rally car till it fell apart. only took a year and I didn’t abuse it until I realized it was on its last legs and couldn’t afford to get a new interior and paint job and transmission all at once. On a three year old car that I only owned for six months before it started to fall apart. I bought it slightly used.

ParticipantA whole lot of awesome.

ParticipantI would vote for waterscapes if given the chance. I also only have 1 picture of a fish being carried away by an osprey but the fish is hard to see and 1 of an egret eating a fish it just caught. also kinda hard to see much of the fish.
