Here’s a question of the rhetorical type – why is a woman in her undies totally OK but this one is questionable?

I’m going to say it has to do with women and bikinis..they look like undies but arent so people deem that kind of thing ok. Thats just my take on it..

and for my own question..while boobs are bad, would sculpted ones need to be linked? I havent decided if I’ll used this one yet but I figured it didn’t hurt to ask

I wanted to do this one but didn’t.

White Chuck Taylors. White tube socks with some sort of dorky white-guy stripes at the top. Jumping about 5 inches high. White background. Framed from the floor to just below the knees.

White men can’t jump.

I plan to use one where the subject (snow) is white. But the non-white setting is important and the white part is only 50%ish of the pic. We talked about it earlier, but does that sound OK for the “dominant white theme”?

Usually for these color themes, just the subject has to be the specific color.

What about a line of black guys looking disparagingly at a white guy wearing a white headband, t-shirt, shorts, socks, and converse, jumping like 5″ in the air?

I like to see different interpretations of a theme and the color based ones can really bring out some good stuff.

my plans this winter involve using a fishing pole and some steel leader to cast burning magnesium into crevices in the face of the glacier that I’m not willing to brave on foot.`

I use a small blowtorch to light the magnesium, so I don’t have to worry about wind. well, ok, it’s not my smallest blowtorch, but it’ll fit in the backpack.

i was out once in 60mph winds on the beach lighting some off. I was surprised the coast guard didn’t show up.

When I was in junior high we burned magnesium in science class. I am talking about IN the actual classroom!
Somehow I don’t think they still do stuff like that…

Thanks soosh. It was actually an afterthought. When I finished shooting the JD bottle I put the light under my face and shot. Wasn’t planning on using it but it looked pretty cool even though the DOF is a tad off.
I made it B&W because I didn’t like the color version…

I have to agree with U-Man. I thought Megains shot was acceptable even though some reflected light was technically another source. It was subtle and added to the effect of the shot.
Plus I think we are going to have much worse offenders as the night goes on.
I already see a couple shots usning the sun as a light source…

The Canon 70-300 IS like the one I sold to Mopsy is a good choice for what she wants. You can buy it new for around 600 bucks. The 70-200L f4 is also a decent choice. The non IS model can be gotten for a little more than the 70-300. The reach isn’t quite as far but the image quality is much better as is the build. Image stabilization is not really needed for what she wants to shoot, however if she decides to use it for birdwatching or other situations where longer shutter speeds or long zoom is needed she may want it.
