I just wanted to tell you both good luck, we’re all counting on you.

    LOL.

//Surely, Plama isn’t so slow on the uptake that he missed it the second time. 😛

Getting my username wrong again-it’s definitely not Shirley.

No need for me, I’m already in. That’s why I’m moving to Hawaii in two months (two months from today, actually). I was just saying that I had gone through a similar process recently.

Gotta say, though, Rav, daylight is way overrated.

/It burns us, it BURNS us!

It’s actually kind of funny. Plasmaduke30 should be my new username.

Condolences, Rav. You should have a wake for it. At least the camera is survived by the lenses.

I know I’m going to need an ObO for this one and possibly for the next one too. I’ll be out in the high sierra stocking up on amazing photography opportunities.

I’ve been Nikon for a while now, but I had a Cannon PnS a while back. With my glass collection as it is now, I’m pretty much locked into Nikon now, and I don’t mind it.

This sounds like a fun summer, even with the heat (I’ve lived in Louisiana and Arizona both, and I’ll take the desert heat any day over the muggy torture that is the bayous).

Find a weekend to camp somewhere up on the Mogollon Rim if you can. Man, it’s gorgeous up there.

I was supposed to be camping up on the Mogollon Rim right now, until all the fires happened.

July 16 might be a little tricky for me, as my dad and my brother are supposed to be visiting me around that time, though I’m not sure exactly what days they’ll be here. I’ll see what I can do-maybe they’ll be up for coming along.

    EDIT:
Or better yet, now that I think of it, I have a great place for lightning which has other fun things to photograph if there aren’t any storms-the observatory! If you guys would be willing to drive down to Tucson, I was going to request a night of eyepiece observing on the 61″ around that time. I’m going to see about getting a T-mount adapter for my camera so I can hook it up to the telescope and have the biggest DSLR lens in history.

My schedule is wide open, barring a few observing nights here and there. I’m in the state/on the continent until July 29.

Not sure why you’d want to visit Arizona during the summer, but I hope you have fun. If for some odd reason you have any time off, we should get an Arizona farktographer meeting going up in phoenix.

The D7000 does 1080p. I haven’t really had a good chance to use it yet. It wasn’t a really important factor in my deciding to get it-there’s plenty of other fun features.

EDIT: Just to keep this relevant to the thread, I have an old Minolta SRT 101 that I use occasionally.
