ParticipantWe’re actually way behind on snow up here. We get a mass of warm air off the Pacific that pushes all our cold air down onto the lower 48. It’s 44?F here today and we’re about three feet behind on snow for the season.

ParticipantI also like the idea of in a smallish sequestered community like we have here, 30,000 people with no roads leaving town and no other towns on our bit of road system, of having an exhibit of photos where people might wander in and find themselves or their friends up on the wall.

ParticipantI agree that they draw the viewer in more. I like the studies of people with their guard down, not aware they’re being captured in what they’re doing.

ParticipantIt’s not going to be something I’d take out in the weather much, but for indoors, it’s just like silk.

ParticipantI think it’s fine if the person sees you and wants to present themselves. It’s the unplanned meeting aspect that sets street photography apart. I did a lot of shots when I was riding the bus, but I held the camera in my lap and had headphones on and it was set to a manual focus/wide angle, so I’d line up a shot, look the other way out the window and wait for a bump on the road to hit the shuttter so it wasn’t as obvious. I only had two or three people notice that I was taking photos in about 4 months of daily commuting.

Participantheh. you try and throw the pittweiler and see how it works for you.
The throwing doesn’t look that hard, the staying alive when it come after me will be a lot harder 😛
nah, he’s a happy critter. the most danger you’re in is getting licked to within an inch of your life.

ParticipantSoosh: Those high spirals in your photos are from where you threw the dog right? 😛
/Obedient little thing coming back like that 😛

Participantwell it does say the device must be lighting the picture and be included in the image, both of which are true.
didn’t see your post, elsinore. so these would be ok?

ParticipantI’ve got some long exposure LED lights in the dark with the dog and dog toy. Is long exposure stuff where you don’t see the actual device clearly, but where it is in the photo and is the source of the light (as LEDs don’t throw much of a beam) going to be OK?

Participantif we ever do a drug inspired contest.
I sure as hell hope we never have to exclude drug-inspired photos. I’d have to retire from farktography altogether.

ParticipantI do the same, SilverStag

ParticipantI always vote for my own shots. If I didn’t feel they were worth a vote, why put them out there?

Participantvoting should prove weird this week.
