glad to hear it, Just Kat.

I had planned on going out after dark last night to take some shots for this week’s contest, but ate something yesterday that disagreed with me highly. I’m not running anywhere and will probably sit this week out.

psst soosh: running from polar bears…oops I mean cameras ,is next week.

This week is cuddewy wuddewy puppy dawgs!!

I’ll be damned, you’re right. I’ve got plenty of doggie shots to fall back on. Thanks for pointing that out!

good luck selling them. I do think your prices on the lenses listed currently are a little high.

I have an idea for mine, but the ocean is just too damned cold here.

    where’d you run into saltwater/glaciers?

I usually use Eclipse and a microfiber cloth to clean saltwater off. liberal amounts of Eclipse to basically rinse the lens, then lesser amounts to finish up.

I’m kind of against it, too. It seems to me kind of like posting a regular image and then a link that says “here’s what it looks like in HDR”.

I don’t use filters at all. After four years, one of my lenses, my 28-75, has a front element that isn’t anything to particularly be proud of, as it doesn’t ever seem to completely come clean, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference in my shots. I do so much night shooting that has a lot of stray light bouncing around that I don’t want to put any more glass in front of the elements that I don’t have to. I also don’t like the idea of moisture becoming trapped in between the filter and the lens, which I have seen happen. I am incredibly tough on my lenses, taking them out in sub-zero temperatures, rain, on the ocean, etc, and they have all held up well.

I’ve bought lenses online and in person. keh.com is a good place to check for used lenses. I have had good luck buying from them. I trust B&H over anybody, but have ordered from Adorama for some things. I’ve also bought gear off of ebay with surprisingly good results.

I have cheap adapters for Contax/Yashica mount and also for M42 screwmount that I use with old lenses and my Canons that work excellently. Canon FD not so much, but there are a world of old manual focus lenses that are readily adaptable to the EOS mount.

Those are great pictures. Apparently mine just show industry, not the beauty of it, so I’m going to pass. I do look forward to seeing everyone’s and voting appropriately.

I would encourage you to go ahead and enter them. Voting is almost always unpredictable, and beauty is what you make of it.

I decided that deep throating a beer bottle would be too attention whorish, so I went with other stuff instead 😉

I’ve got rather a lot less photos of vice than I would have expected. I may have to convince the wife to make some new ones tonight.
