Participantschnee, I appreciate the hell out of the FSM. Glad to see it’s back up.
How hard would it be to have an option on the portfolio page, where, rather than photos by votes, one could rearrange to see photos by theme for a particular user, with say the most current theme first, then past week’s listed next, and so forth?
Just a chronological display of entries, in other words?

Participantone thing you could do, U-Man, or others, is to make the soup can label in photoshop, print it out, paste it on a can, then take a picture of that.
my photos are going to be something along the lines of Circus Peanuts Present Great World Tragedies

got some great shots of my 10 year old grinding rails on his snowboard Sunday. I am quite sure some of them will be in this contest.

ParticipantA Farktography riddle…
What is airborne and moving quite quickly, while staying in the same place?
well, depending upon where the observer is, I guess an interior of an airplane could fit this.

Participantnever really thought about it. seems like a good way to get a whole bunch of shit collapsing down on top of you. you wouldn’t get arrested, but you might get beaten up by the locals. late winter isn’t the best time to be poking alaskans with a stick.

ParticipantWow. just wow at what the lack of light pollution can do for a night sky. 1201 just amazes me. how long is the exposure on that ? I wouldn’t think it to long what with the lack of long trails.
It’s 30 seconds at f/1.8 and ISO 3200

Participantabout three and a half hours altogether. it’s a 45 minute walk each way from the parking lot across the lake to the face of the glacier, so that takes a good chunk of the time. I was well-chilled by the time I came home.
Those are dogs, yes. It’s boggling when you’re out there, because there’s just nothing to give it a sense of scale, but the ice is easily three stories tall in a lot of those shots, if not more.
