sometime soon I want to use this midnight landscape, but I don’t think this is the contest for it.

I’m thinking more Holga or medium-format for this contest.

    This is one I’m considering

Truly sorry to hear about your father, Elsinore. Deepest condolences.

damn. one of my favorite photographs would be great for this theme, but I used it for Streetlights, and sadly, it didn’t do that great there.

I have a 180mm Tamron macro that I bought used from KEH.com and I must say that I do love it. The autofocus is so slow compared to my other lenses, but the extra working distance is really cool.

I’m hoping that interiors of a building are OK. If not, I need to find something to replace my first entry.

this theme wasn’t the easiest for me to find things for. I’ve got plenty of shots where things get jumbled in the frame, or where elements lay over each other, but not so much tangled.

Thought about using this shot, for instance, but nothing is necessarily tangled. It’s just messy.

    …image deleted…

Did find three that I think fit the theme, though.

It was harder than I expected too, mostly because I couldn’t find the negatives I wanted to use. I’m a packrat unfortunately. *sigh* I also found one photo which I liked cause it was a stretch of the theme. But when I showed it to people I ended up getting an angry e-mail from someone that was offended by it! I don’t think I’m going to enter that one…

I think the photo you posted is beautiful, maybe a “silhouette” theme would be a good idea? The flatten color palette and hazy background suggest outlines of things to me.

“Silhouette” would make a cool theme.

In other news, all I need is 55 votes to put me over the 3,000 cumulative vote total!

I thought I wasn’t going to have anything for this contest, then I remembered hey, broken glass is glass, too!

dust inside the lens is a frequent topic at photo.net.

What’s the defect? Does it show up when you take photos?

Glass can be imperfect, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will show up in the final image. Imperfections including bubbles in the glass aren’t necessarily a reason to reject a lens.
