ParticipantThanks folks. It felt good to get my Fark-fu back this week.

ParticipantI’m so confused. Did you just answer your own question or is there a glitch in the matrix?
I didn’t check the math but I’m pretty sure that was the answer to the prior question.
I had a similar experience with entering a few contests and then having a pretty big gap between entries. After starting with 3x/week, the trip to ‘Ultra’ was faster than I expected

ParticipantHey, look at that. I hadn’t noticed. (not. 🙁 )
It was higher before this week. I don’t have a prayer of catching him for about two months. He’s had weeks with 101, 109, 118 and 176 votes recently.
Can I be Travolta and orionid be ‘the ugly guy’ though?

Participant1st – rav and plama – I agree with your choices.
2nd – rav – yeah, I made 4 word files of my posts and the gloves were one of them. I decided the gloves were in the kids/cute category and diversified with the flake. I’m sure the gloves will show up sometime.U-Man
ParticipantAre any here waaay better than the ones over there? (if we could figure that out we’d…well, have it figured out)

ParticipantI have many bees…and a feeling that I’ll choose wrong. 🙂

ParticipantIn my opinion, as long as the pic wasn’t actually used and counted (i.e. – got 1+ votes) and as long as it doesn’t break any farktography rules, you can use it.

ParticipantIt’s pretty much the perfect oil paint filter.

ParticipantETA: U-Man your yellow highlighter pic is well…I found some strange moisture in my eye…must be my contacts.
Why thankee. I started out with my wife as the subject (with some cleavage and umm…coloring the ummm…banana) but the composition didn’t work. So I went the cute kid route. 🙂
orionid, I saw your facebook post about the ‘great idea’ and said “greeeeaaaat” to myself. 😛 It turned out really nice. I like both the clock and the scream. I’ll have to play with that.
And kashari, your horses always do it for me. They have a feel that strikes a chord.

ParticipantI’ll admit that getting knocked off that perch stings a bit. I’ll also admit that both of you guys totally deserve to be there. There has been some really good stuff (from you and others) recently.
Not as an excuse (really and seriously) but more of a comment to farktography comrades, I just haven’t ‘felt the magic’ for several months. Recently, I have been doing mainly archive diving. Hell, I forgot to vote this week! I’m on call and the hospital is full and life outside of work is kinda put on-hold.
**side note** Mr. Mopsy had his second surgery for a really big common iliac artery aneurysm just over a week ago. Mopsy has been staying in Green Bay, WI with him. Just in case the hospital stay went longer than expected, she set up the next three weeks of pics before he went under the knife. Not THAT’S dedication. 🙂
However, keep yer ‘A-game’ going because I’m going to wake up one of these days. 🙂 I have a color-pop idea for this week that just might work.

ParticipantSome bees here.
U-Man, seems we’ve got a good bit of overlap in our subjects tonight. I’ve also got a (clearly inferior) Skydeck shot in my bees; yours is awesome – must’ve been there during a slow time, there was quite the crowd when I was there. Also like your last arch shot.
Yeah, we do overlap a good bit. You might like my skydeck, but your Epcot totally kicks my Bee.
I think we were the first group of the day for the skydeck.
Good stuff this week, all around.
Here’s another arch with some PS dodging to lighted us up a bit.

St. Louis Arch (didn’t use it because it’s not very arch-y)

Another arch
http://photos.imageevent.com/ulle17/fark/Arch_4975b.jpgThis last one has a story. To get this pic, I placed the Mk II 5D with 16-35L on a sweatshirt on the steps in front of the arch. The lens was just sneaking a peek over a step. To include the whole arch, I needed to point the camera pretty steeply up. Set timer, press shutter release, run up to family. Well, on the way back down after the 3rd or 4th shot, the sweatshirt started to settle a bit. This caused the camera to sink. Which caused it to point up even more. Which caused it to get ‘top heavy’. From two steps up, I saw the camera very slowly start to tip over on it’s way to rolling down a flight of concrete steps. I got there in time to stop it — but I didn’t do any more of those pics. 🙂

Participantolavf Vote-Whoring was last week 😉
Whores are OK every week. Vote-whores, that is. Not so much for the other kind.
