Yeah, I did find it was quite hefty and didn’t like anything that moved (it was a tad windy and that damn alium was flying all over the place!) but I wanted to see how close it would go, now I’ve done that, I’ll probably fiddle around with each one and then try combinations of two before finally sticking to one that works for me.

Plus, I have the 10-22mm to play with as well, so they might stay back in the box for a little while. 😀

    My Sigma arrived yesterday.

Here’s a couple straight off the camera (no fixing, just reduced – not cropped)

The street I am standing the other side of is one car wide (good old english streets and all that), just to give you an idea.

I managed to bash the cat in the nose with it last night, so she’s once again avoiding the camera like the plague, last time, it was because I had the flash on, she’s so fussy! Should be a super shot of her when I get it though!

Ok, so I’m a day late here..

This is without extension tubes as close as I could get.

this is with extension tubes (I went for all three, I’m greedy like that) pretty much as close as I could get.

Alright, I’m starting an official pool on how many posts have passed before we get a picture of a rice’d out Civic. I say 14.

/Winner of the pool gets a duplicate of the fabulous contest winner’s prize!

Oh man, I thought I was going to have to skip this one, but this is a GREAT idea!!

    THANKS!!

    😉

I just purchased the extension tube set (after Millera9 mentioned them) and they are really great, particularly for the small amount of money you pay for them.

I would offer examples, but I haven’t uploaded them yet. Will try to put some up tonight to demonstrate the difference, unless someone else chimes in with some. 🙂

I put it down to a freak of the internet.

    I didn’t do it, I *swear*

    Not off, of

Although, now I think of it, those two gentlemen running around naked for that photoshoot might melt the servers, just from the mental imagery.

    😉

I have a similar thing with three pictures from one contest, all the rest are fine, but those three just will not load. They’re all on the same server, in the same folder, and around the same size. I put it down to a freak of the internet.

After all your hard work, Analogy, I decided to get the cheaper Sigma version. The reviews I’ve seen and sample images that were in the reviews didn’t seem worth that extra 200 quid, so I’ve spent the difference on that nifty Kenko extension tube set and some shiny new filters.

I’ve had a heap of sigma lenses with my 35mm, and they were all solid and decent quality, my zoom is a Sigma, and although isn’t as crisp as I would like, for the price, it’s been super value for money.

Unfortunately, I have to do this on a budget until I can get some more income from it, the day job won’t pay for all that and the bills. 🙁

I just use a normal backpack and some padding. 🙁

At least I know it’s waterproof though, and has squillions of pockets, and I can fit all my food in there without worrying it will leak onto the camera because it’s also waterproof between pockets. ‘Spose I could buy some foam and make properly fitted inserts for the gear to go into the backpack, but the lenses and camera have their own cases anyhoo.

Plus, if I buy a shiny camera backpack, I’ll have less for the 10-22mm lens! 😀

    That’s freaking fantastic!

    Thanks Analogy!

I’ll definitely be getting one of those, and soon!

Well, since I just got some dosh in from my wedding shoot, I’m a good way towards it. I’d love to have this for my trip to Brussels in September. The streets are all tight and squidgy, so a 10mm would do sooo much.

Don’t suppose I could be cheeky and ask you to get a couple of shots of buildings or streets so I could see how it deals with architecture and hard lines?

    😀

And get him to turn off the delete after download feature. I hate those things and, being paranoid, always check the pictures and back them up before deleting off the card.

That is one super fab lens. I’m going to have to get me one of those, eventually.

    *edit*
OMG, I just looked at the price of it. Damn me and my expensive hobbies. 🙁
