Last time I took a camera on the plane in the USA, they made me take a picture to show it was real. That was it.

Not sure if it’s changed since security has been tightened, they didn’t check when I went to spain.

Some of those ideas are just mind boggling.

man i wish i had half the talent you all have.or at least a better camera.:)
on a side note whats the trick to getting more votes.just curious if you all have advice and or critiques of my few entries

I’m in second this week with five plastic cookie cutters and two bits of black cardboard. Honestly, there is no way to work out how to get votes, because people are voting, and people pick what they like, which isn’t always what you like.

Just go with whatever you feel. The cookie cutters came to me as some bizarre inspiration when I was hungry and wanted cookies. And you don’t need a super camera either, quite a few of my entries have been from a Powershot A70 (that’s 3.2mpixel), although admittedly not the cookie cutters, but my third highest entry ever was.

And as for having our talent? I think mine is more luck. 😆 Just practice, practice, practice.

My Ricoh KR10M is a super camera, I’ve had that since I was 16 (which is a few years ago now!) and it’s just a great little performer.

Since I’ve gone digital I’ve been Canon all the way, not entirely sure how it happened, but I’m stuck on them now. 🙂

My mum had a really lovely Praktica with a cloth shutter. That was pretty good at taking abuse too.

    Ah, the memories! 😀

Just a quick question, are the rules still meant to have this?

    – You are only allowed to enter a photograph once. Do not submit the same photo to another contest later. (**not applicable this week)

It’s 1am here when it’s posted, I get them in early so I can go back to bed, usually. Right now my sinusitis is keeping me awake anyhow.

    🙂

I use Gallery on my website, which adds watermarks, resizes, that kind of thing. If I want to add a watermark and am feeling oh so lazy, I just upload them to the site. Then I can ftp in and save them all back.

I am the Queen of Lazy. 😉

Yeah, the macro on my camera totally sucks, but I got this Sigma and it’s cooooooool.

Which one did you get? I really need a nice macro lens 🙁

Yeah, I forgot to put the right tone of typing into that.

What you guys said about this board, apply to me also. 😉

Well, all stairs are steps, because stairs are a series of steps, one step being one raise in the height of the staircase.

    One tread + 1 riser = 1 step

    1 step < stairs

I remember sticking a card in my 30D that my friend had used to take pictures with his Rebel XT, and my camera displayed his pictures perfectly and continued the picture numbering from where his camera left off.

I think the software in these cameras is a lot less fragile than you might think.

I do the same with my 400D (Rebel XTi) and my Powershot A70. The only issue with doing that is the 400D shots show up as very tiny images on the screen of the A70 and you can’t zoom on them or anything. Other than that, the numbering, etc., all works as normal.

well i shot my stairs today. and they are literally stairs, not some interpretation of waaaaaasup. and they are beautiful. technically brilliant and artsy as all hell. the voters will hate them.

    So true!

I also have pictures of staircases, the good thing about stairs is that they’re everywhere!

all told i shot 226 exposures total today.

    Pfft. Amateur! 😉
