I (stupidly) only had the flash batteries that were in the flash so there were frustrating moments when the damn thing wouldn’t fire. The moray eel took a particular interest in me and was almost posing for me. Unfortunately that was when the flash batteries decided to run out. However, I got several shots that I’m pleased with. /

took a look at some shots of mine at the new orleans aquarium shot with a minolta 7i (fixed lens DSLR) and no flash. shutter speeds down to 1/8 @ f2.8 and still no hand shake. or no perceptible shake. i must have been much steadier in 2004 🙂

anyway my point is available light can work for you with slow moving subjects.

Interesting. I’m going to have to see one in person to get a feel for its size, though.

Any idea how the focal length of its lenses relate to a 35mm SLR?

The M. Zuiko Digital Micro Four Thirds lenses are designed to be more compact and portable like the E-PL1. Choose from the ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 zoom lens (28-84mm equivalent in 35mm cameras) sold with the E-PL1, the ED 17mm f2.8 lens (34mm equivalent), the new super wide-angle zoom ED 9-18mm f4.0-5.6 lens (18-36mm equivalent) or the high-power wide to telephoto zoom ED 14-150mm f4.0-5.6 lens (28-300mm equivalent).

that’s in the description on the linked amazon page about half way down. from looking at the pictures of the camera with lens mounted i don’t know if it would pass as a point and shoot.

I asked him about it and said it looked like it hadn’t caught up after the site was unavailable. He said it should update after this week’s contest starts and if it doesn’t, to let him know.

    thanks for the update.

He mentioned on Facebook not too long ago (three-five weeks-ish), that he’s just been to busy IRL for farktography.

all work and no play makes schnee a dull boy:)

And Curious plan on Christmas 2011 then because I don’t think we’ll be ready for Christmas this year. I’m just hoping now that I get it done before my wedding 😛

you aren’t supposed to congratulate the bride so __________ (fill in the blank). i’m happy you’re happy.

and i’ll think of something else to give this year.

BTW did you get my email re name?

that’s really cool Pope_Larry_II. i shot some photos of my stylus resting on a 33 1/3 album for a contest but it didn’t do to well.

since i don’t leave the house on the weekends without a camera it’s turned into photo day trips for my friend and i. we don’t always take pictures if we are back somewhere we have been several times before but OTOH there is almost always something to see new or differently. and there is the current contest to try and shot for which will often dictate where we go.

real nice shots. i’m sure all 340 weren’t keepers but if the majority are like those you did great.

usually archive diving is allowed. then again a day trip with the camera isn’t to be turned down.

unfortunately one of my all time favorite songs is “the rose” and while i have tons of nice/good/entry worthy pictures i don’t see them getting many votes for creativity.
