I asked him about it and said it looked like it hadn’t caught up after the site was unavailable. He said it should update after this week’s contest starts and if it doesn’t, to let him know.

It’s working for me now. Maybe it was just the usual hiccup.

Yeah, the site is available, but it doesn’t have current data and of course it would happen when I finally won! 😀

It was hard fought and well earned, kashari. And against Darth Vadar, no less. 🙂

Does that mean I’m finally a Jedi? 😉

… Some nice stuff from those that did partcipate though!

The series with the guy training the horse is awesome, in particular.

    Yup. *tips Stetson*

    Thanks you guys!

Back in August, Kestrana voted for no tentacles, does that rule out Jelly Fish then?

That sounds like a funny premise for a show, is it good?

I’ve only seen bits of it, but what I have seen is pretty entertaining. It’s not Olympic caliber figure skating, but it’s fun to watch the likes of Georges Laraque and Tie Domi attempt figure skating. Even the practices are funny as you see these little women bullying NHL players around.

If you’re in Canada you can stream it from CBC.ca.

I’ll look on YouTube and see if there’s anything. The funniest stuff would’ve probably been when they were first beginning and still all clumsy and uncomfortable. They should make them wear Johnny Weir type outfits too!

For those who aren’t handy, I absolutely LOVE mine that I got on Amazon and it was only $36. The nice thing is it will switch between having one side on at a time or the entire circle.

Because that person is still behind four other people, thus fifth overall.

But they still had the same number of votes, so that should take one place. Otherwise, it’s like two of the second place people then really come in third and fourth, instead of being tied for second. You can’t get to five without having 3 & 4, that’s illogical! 😀

It’s like you freaks that change your clocks twice a year, the sun is still in the same place, no matter what mechanical games you play! 😛

Well, you’re still a version behind, the latest is 2.2.5 and there were some stability issues for some users on 2.2.4.. The latest has improved color rendering plus some other enhancements.

And thanks Curious, I wasn’t aware of that, hope I didn’t mess anyone up.

    Here are some basic tutorials:

This is a video of a workshop from a Nikon employee, it’s a bit long but goes through the entire workflow process. The first part is mostly class chatter, but the rest is so worth your time, even if you do it in sections. There are 3 parts, this is the link to the first, then you can find the others from the page:

Have fun, it’s a great product! I LOVELOVELOVE control points and am so happy with not having to mess with layers and masks. Also make sure you investigate how you can keep different versions within the one NEF file, it’s pretty slick.

    😆 Thanks Curious and Lokisbong!

Phew, I’m grateful for Farktography.net rather than having everything in one thread like that. (but the tortoise is cute!) I kind of browsed the last few pages of the thread and couldn’t find the discussion, so as long as it’s ok to stay here with it, I will.

I don’t understand why skipping places would be preferred? Why not have a 3-way tie for second and then your fifth place becomes third?

I’m a heavy CNX user and LOVE it, I think it’s worth EVERY penny! Which version did you download, 2.2.4 or 2.2.5? Are you a Windows user and if so, 32 or 64 bit? How are you trying to open it, from within CNX, View NX or Explorer? If it’s from Explorer, first try opening the file from within CNX or ViewNX instead and see if that works.

To open from Explorer, you’ll need the Codec. There was a new 32-bit version released yesterday to add support for the new cameras, but I haven’t installed it yet. http://nikonimglib.com/nefcodec/

There’s also a great CNX group on Flickr that you might want to join, I’ve learned a lot from them: http://www.flickr.com/groups/capturenx/

Ahhh, ok, thanks Kestrana & Orionid!

Now that I think about this some more, why does it work that way? Why isn’t there a tie for each place without skipping the subsequent places? Or is that just the way the FSM works?

there is a tie, that what caused the skip. there was a raging debate recently in the PSAEF about the best way to list ties and this method won out. more by default but it does have it’s fans. me included.

What is the PSAEF? Maybe I should read that and see if it helps clarify it because I still don’t get why a place gets skipped and I don’t want to jack this thread. Thanks!

Maybe this would be a good place to ask this question: Why do the final stats skip places? i.e., it will go 1, 2, 4, 5 7, etc.. Awhile ago I looked around and didn’t find an answer, but I may have missed it.

And thanks for this tip, I’ll give it a shot!
