Owie! Sorry to hear about that & hope you heal quickly!
September 10, 2012 at 4:48 pm #48449kashariParticipantFor those who do not know enough about depression, I invite you to read this:
http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/
It’s about as accurate a representation as I have ever read, AND it’ll make you laugh.
Wow. I enjoyed that. But it made even more clear to me that depression sucks.
Yeah I got that impression from this and other things I have read. She hasn’t been putting out anything new in quite a while. I hope she makes a come back because she has a very funny style when she Draws these comics.
Weird timing. A month or so ago, I’d wondered what happened with her. Seems she’s working on a book that was supposed to be released this fall, but I didn’t find any recent news about it. I enjoy all her stories/cartoons, so I hope this works out for her.
August 9, 2012 at 4:37 pm #48288kashariParticipantRegarding the post-processing issue, I have some questions/comments about what’s allowed. Should I do that here or start a new thread in the Pub(?).
July 23, 2012 at 3:38 pm #47734kashariParticipantSo there isn’t a restriction on kit cars? I went to a car show, but have no idea about that kind of stuff….they all had wheels & engines tho. 😆
June 28, 2012 at 5:35 am #47483kashariParticipantWow, there are some really cool birds I’ve never seen before. I wish more people would’ve said what kind they are, if they knew.
I’m No Big Deal: That hummingbird is so cute & fluffy! We don’t have that kind here that I know of.
Nice job, gang!
June 28, 2012 at 12:45 am #47471kashariParticipantWell, if you’re applying it across the entire image and increasing the levels/curve height of the highest values, I guess that would be ok. If you’re selectively choosing the background and applying different levels/curves to those sections of the image, that would not be ok.
Ok, it was across the whole image, thanks Els!
June 28, 2012 at 12:39 am #47468kashariParticipantIs it kosher to blow out the background using levels & curves?
June 18, 2012 at 6:44 pm #47918kashariParticipantI take you Nikonians don’t have micro adjust. I use it for my 100-300 Sigma and my 17-50 Tamron, made a big difference.
We do, but only on the pro-level bodies. I can’t justify a camera that cost more than my first five cars put together right now.
The D7000 has an AF Fine Tune adjustment. I haven’t had any problems with mine, but others have. Some have solved it by moving Focus to the AE-L/AF-L button, while others have either done their own tuning or sent it in for calibration. Since the D7k has a more advanced sensor than the older models, it also shows weaknesses in cheaper lenses. 3rd party lenses also have caused some problems I guess.
Thanks for the link, Orion, I’ll check it out & bookmark…just in case! 🙂

Thanks Elsinore!
May 10, 2012 at 1:19 am #46241kashariParticipantCan someone please pull my butterfly one? I changed my mind just as I hit post. 😳
May 7, 2012 at 4:55 pm #46557kashariParticipantThat was cool, thanks for posting it! I like his instructing style too, easy to understand & funny.
April 20, 2012 at 5:12 am #46081kashariParticipantCropping is allowed to get the effect.
Ok, thanks!
April 19, 2012 at 4:25 am #46072kashariParticipantDoes it have to be shot off kilter, or is changing the angle in post-processing allowed?
April 17, 2012 at 5:49 am #46008kashariParticipantdamn U, man!
😆 That’s EXACTLY what I said to myself! The dragonfly & clover are amazing, you blow my mind, U-Man! Wish I could ‘see’ the way you do.
