ParticipantAnyway, having had a look at the entires so far, I want to hang out with Kestrana someday. I will bring a couple of spare kidneys and a liver for the morning after. 😉
Hah! We’d been saving all our bottles for about 2 months so I could take that shot. But, I think I do know how to have a good time…

ParticipantNot that anyone cares but if you do want to read the text of the poem I photographed it’s on the Flickr page for the picture.

Participantjustkat: that shot of you reading just oozes peace and relaxation.
That actually wasn’t my difficulty… my difficulty was getting a pose that was relaxed yet not horribly unflattering. 😛 The first shot shall never see the light of day. I mean, I know I’m getting old, but… gah! lol
Talk about gah, I was trying for the artistic nakedness implying sex sort of shot and omg, we are not particularly flattering people on pixels.

ParticipantHi, me again.
So we have an unofficial deadline of December 17th to get something put together.
Linguine suggested on facebook that we choose individual photographs instead of themes.
I am personally a supporter of choosing themes and using them to organize the book.
But that is where the discussion has currently stopped, so I have a dilemma.I would prefer to work with a general consensus or blessing from the active members, either about the individual ideas or about me taking on the job of creating a product to bring back for approval. Either way is fine, I have plenty of time and desire to work on this project. I don’t want us to lose the opportunity to publish through a “real” publisher since who knows, it could lead to fame and fortune for the lot of us (probably not).
But if the general feeling is still to continue to talk about everything as a group, that’s perfectly fine too – we just need to get talking again about it. If you don’t want to just turn this project over to me, then we really need to nail down how we are choosing our content and who is doing the choosing.
Currently on facebook I had asked the people who joined the group to give me a “Top 25” list that we added up to give us a Top 50 themes, then SilverStag suggested we get more input so a couple people posted some top 10 lists here. But there is still a debate whether or not we should go by theme or individual picture.
So please, if you have an opinion, weigh in on this.
Thanks and love,
KesKestrana
ParticipantYeah it’s certainly easier to just be strict about it than make exceptions for one thing and then another, etc.

ParticipantApparently, someone else sitting at your computer with your account already set up and prepared to post, without even sharing your password with them is account sharing.

ParticipantPlants was a theme, also Tiptoe through the tulips and Flower Power. Plants was the most recent of those.

ParticipantThanks for the list lokisbong
I don’t know if moving to facebook killed the discussion or what but I do want to keep moving forward on this project. Right now there is some discussion about 1. should we be selecting themes or individual pictures and 2. getting more people involved in the selection process, or how many people should be involved.
If you have an opinion either way, or no opinion and just think we should do what we think is best let us know.

Participantugh I had a great idea of where I wanted to go to take pictures for this but can’t pull it off in a week.
Thanks kat
*grumble*
Ignore me I just drove from Chicago to Connecticut and I’m really really bitchy. Chairs is fine. At least I own some.Kestrana
ParticipantPersonally I don’t have a problem with this one since I have archive fish shots but if we’re going to replace it please use Waterscapes because I’m going to bitch and moan about not having time for Armaments 😀

ParticipantMonkeys aside, I’ve been doing a shooting that’s taken me all night; I think I got the one I want, late in the game. Might have to do some white-balance adjustment, of course (I think I’ll go with ‘cloudy’); maybe work on the saturation angle a bit. As I’ve learned here, ‘great shots are not taken, they are made’. I made the best of it (it was so hard, of course, to keep up to the task at hand–the shot idea was a fantasy projection, really, after all).
Now I just have to replicate the feeling, twice more, and yet make it seem original each time. Well, I’ve pulled harder tricks than that before.
But never before an audience of savants. Hope I stand up to the challenge of everyone else’s submissions. Can we disable the ‘clickr for bigger’ this contest? If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s size-queens. And little…pics.

ParticipantThere’s a whole bunch I would have liked to vote for but voting wasn’t enabled, like Choc-Fil-A’s 3rd picture

ParticipantI don’t think anyone would have a problem with asking monsieurstabby
