ParticipantMy father-in-law gave me his old AV-1 last year (the aperture control version of the AE-1, right?). It’s built like a tank. I took it out the other day, and used a couple of shots in the last contest taken with it (and some for the upcoming Autumn one). There are some good FD lenses out there going cheap. I especially like the 100mm F2, as the bokeh is beautiful, but the standard 50mm F2 isn’t half bad either.

ParticipantI’ve been wondering about that as well, but I’m pretty sure it’s not a bot, so I figured I’d watch and see.
You never know. meowsaidthedog could have a new-found interest in photography or something.
Oh please no…
Never quite figured out his/her schtick. Not really a troll, possibly an alt for someone, but for what purpose? The “I’m not a native English speaker” thing wears very thin very quickly.LeicaLens
ParticipantAnd on a different note, get well soon, Elsinore!

You got me curious about cross-scanning, so I gave it a try with that picture to see how it would turn out. Interestingly, when scanning the slide film in as a normal negative, the scanner couldn’t recognise the edges of the film, so I had to crop the result slightly.
There should be a description of the scanner set up for each picture.http://flic.kr/p/8SFo6X

Was this cross-processed? Or cross-scanned? Very serene and dreamy.
Thank you! I didn’t process the film myself, but as far as I know it was processed normally for colour reversal/slide film (CR-56/E-6, right?). I scanned it in from the negative as colour reversal/slide film, so not cross scanned.
I took it just before dusk, which I think explains the light. It was darker than that really, but my camera seems to overcompensates slightly. Being a film camera, I didn’t realise that until a week later when I got the negatives back…LeicaLens
ParticipantDidn’t you have the tinfoil on before posting? Tell me you did.
/oh shiat.//daylight savings time.
I see *THEY’VE* got to you already.

ParticipantHave you crazy Americans being doing something to the time flux?
Farktography normally goes up the main page at 1.00pm my time (yes, that’s right; I own the time here), but when I clicked the link for the thread posted earlier, a message came up saying the Farktography thread won’s be up for another 40 minutes or so.We haven’t even touched the fabric of time here (too busy building robots with dubiously long tentacles for that), so I’m guessing the problem is your at end.
I can only think of three possible solutions:
1) A CIA/NSA black-ops operation to control the Time-Space continuum.
2) Someone’s been at the tequila.
3) You’ve put your clocks back since I last entered a competition four weeks ago.Obviously, I’m going with the first.

ParticipantI’m not sure what you mean by cross-scanning. Setting the scanner for positive film, scanning negatives, or vice-versa, then inverting in post? I’d lean towards allowing that, but haven’t had any artistic success the few times I’ve tried it. I’ll let the modmins rule on that. I have scanned c-41 process BW as color to pick up a nice sepia tone on some of my sprocketography, to no complaints.
Yep. Shooting a roll of, say, slide film, then scanning in the negatives as black and white negatives, or shooting B&W film and scanning it in as colour film. It gets similar results to cross-processing.
To be honest, I have only done it once by accident, and I am not sure I would use the results. I just want to know if the possibility is there.LeicaLens
ParticipantCouple of questions:
Are multiple exposures with a film camera allowed?
Is “cross-scanning” negatives allowed?LeicaLens
ParticipantCrap, that’s a great picture!

ParticipantWell, after a 3-week hiatus due to being too busy to take/post pics, I think tomorrow I should be able to put something up.
I was able to get a few interesting shots on a trip on Nov 3rd to this esoteric Shinto festival near the wife’s family home.
Go me!LeicaLens
ParticipantI hope you get better soon (they did find out the problem, right?).

Participant12 weeks. Already shaking fist at the ultrasound tech who “jiggled” her to try to get her turned for the profile image to check nuchal translucency.
The doctor gives us a 98% chance of having a girl. So, here’s Lily Margo:
They can tell with 98% certainty that it’s going to be a girl from that!?

ParticipantHaving been unable to participate in the last two, I was all ready to go for this one, but work has conspired against me. If I have time, I will look at my archives and try to find a few possibles.
On the bright side, the extra work I am getting now may lead to new glass in the future 😆
Useless, though, if I can’t find time to use it. -
