ParticipantWell I don’t have any ideas for something like that that I want to do right now, Im just making sure Im keeping my eyes open for the right types of things. But to make this more difficult, are we limiting this to english only or are letters from other alphabets fair game to?

ParticipantSo does the entire object have to make the letter, or would framing a shot to get a letter to appear in something larger due to how you framed/cropped a shot. An example would be framing a shot of a grid so that the lines appear to form a capital a.

ParticipantIve been happy with flickr, although Ive never used photobucket so I couldn’t compare the two. If you wanted to wait on paying for flickr so youre not paying for both at the same time I believe that if you go over 200 pictures the extras that disappear will come back once you upgrade to pro(at least thats how it worked when my pro subscription lapsed).

ParticipantMmmmmmmmmmmmm. I may have to check that out. Although I think going here for a meal may still be higher on my to do list http://www.hamburgercalculus.com/blog/?p=3983

ParticipantIve havent taken many shots of the moon, but I know you need exposures similar to a sunny day since youre taking pictures of something thats reflecting direct sunlight.

ParticipantBut nuclear power is one of the safest and cleanest power sources we have discovered and we should hope that the damage to the plant due to a natural disaster will educate us on what we should prepare for in the future, not cause us to reject the technology as unsafe.
Keep repeating that to anyone who will listen. I fear that the talking heads and wackjobs will kill any future development of nuclear power in this country which would be disastrous for our economy and our national security.
A couple of years ago I met a guy whos job was to design disaster scenarios and see how many people he could kill and he was saying how much safer nuclear energy was than so many other more common things. I believe the most deadly disaster he came up with was a chlorine spill. How many people who don’t wear tinfoil hats go around worried about chlorine?

ParticipantI read the part about “not meant to be a black and white contest”. But can I use a B&W pic if I want to?
I assumed that it as long as the original subject was captured as black, black and white would be fine, but taking something like a blue object and making it look black through a black and white conversion wouldn’t be ok.

ParticipantHey, at least he wasn’t using a Kit Lens!
Or a pop up flash.
I had a friend who got married where the photographer was using both of those.

ParticipantWell shit, why didnt anyone tell me that I could get people to pay me money to take pictures of peoples backs before now.

Participantto keep the sale the shopkeeper should have super glued the aperture to f22 and sold the guy a lens.

HAHAHAHA!!!
Hmmm….. maybe there’s a profit to be made selling “Anti-bokeh” lenses.
Well no ones ever lost money by overestimating human stupidity.
