Well I am glad it’s not just that my pictures suck this week. I can understand lack of interest. I have a lot of friends and family who just look at me funny if I mention photography or farktography even. Some of them do use their cellphone cameras but most don’t even do snapshots. Probably why I get so few votes each week. No dedicated following. Well that and maybe I am not the great photographer I wish I was and try to be.

My reason for wanting to crop one of my entries just a bit is it is a Very close shot of snow and removing the offending thing would have disturbed the snow thus ruining the scene as I saw it. I could not get any closer as the lens would not focus from even a half inch closer and the bushes and rocks around it would not let me change the angle to remove the offending stuff that way.

What if you are as close as the lens will focus but there is just a bit o distracting stuff at one edge of the picture? Please tell me a me a small amount of cropping is ok. just 10% is all I want removed. other wise I will have to chose one new picture for this. I have all three picked out but a no cropping ruling would kill my favorite of the three.

I am pleased to be tied with you on that. Love the lemon song… the song and your picture. I am pretty pleased with the selection of great pictures every one had this week. I guess the guy in dead last place gave himself a vote because I sure wouldn’t vote for a picture of the album itself.Though I guess the rules didn’t specifically say don’t take a picture of your favorite album.

Yeah somebody said you can’t go wrong with legos…I have one doin pretty good and the one I worked the hardest to get right is bombing by comparison. My most popular picture this week is the shot I only did twice before I had the shot I was going for. I figured the Meet the Beatles picture would do better. Is it just that most farkers don’t remember the album cover or did I just suck at recreating it? It took 27 tries to get it that close. I even had to shave half the face off of one because he was way too angry looking and had to shave the monocle off of another and give him two regular eyes. just glad they make a fine tip sharpy pen. I did have a lot of fun with this theme too.

International League of Conservation Photographers seems to be a good photography based charity from what I just read. and non photo based I would say save the tatas

Would blur caused by a longish exposure upon the surface of water at night count?

My guess would be yes that counts. long exposures are even mentioned in the description.

I can actually follow the rules and not worry about the staying in one focal length now that I bought a prime lens from the pawn shop. I will say a prime lens makes you think way more to get the shot you want.or at least move more.

Wow indeed. When I first looked at them, I thought, “cool, but your standard NASA sun photos.” Then I saw that they were taken by an amateur in his backyard! Unbelievable.

Yep. I wasn’t impressed until I noted that these were not released by NASA or any other agency – but by an amateur.

The fact he is an amateur does really make this kick ass! I wish I had the money to get the equipment it takes to get those kinds of images. Someday!

You know that first list makes me think I am not getting much better at photography. lol a whole lot of trying and not a whole lot of votes….well I wont learn to take better pictures if I don’t try right? I do have fun trying to get theme related pictures regardless of vote count and I do think I have been learning. I will admit I am not very good at setting up for themes like the music theme coming up. I still have exactly no pictures for that one.

ps I am not complaining in any way. nor do I feel singled out.

How much is the Godaddy option? because the pro Flickr is only 25 bucks a year for completely unlimited photo storage and upload. and I agree with every thing Kestrana said about it.

Should have gone TTV of a pintglass.
    /Lovelovelove the canoes, btw.

I have not voted yet but I know the canoes shot is getting my vote. The pintglass idea probably would do well with the masses on fark though. Hmmmm maybe I should try to find my own version of Hagrid.
