clouddancer: I don’t see a problem with that as long as you took the photo, but we should probably get a consensus from people. Anyone else have an opinion on that?

I think its fairly easy but I wish I had one of those Wacom? thingies using my mouse is almost painful by the time I get done erasing the parts I want in color. the tutorial for gimp that was in the themes discussion about this was a great help and said pretty much exactly what ennuipoet said .

I was leaning towards anything over 100 years old. Rocks and [old enough] trees would be fine. Peat bogs would be kind of iffy, though, because even if the bogs have been around more than 100 years, the vast majority of the content of your photo (eg, the peat) would not be.

Any other opinions?

/wanted to leave it open-ish to allow for things like trees and great-great-grandmothers.

That just made my search a whole lot easier.I live in redwood tree country. Most but not all of the old buildings and stuff in this town was trashed in 1964 during a tsunami.

the one entry I was able to get was kinda last minute thinking on a five mile hike with some friends.kinda seems stupid compared to all the dib’s in this contest. but I’m single so I had no one to share that kinda thing with.lol
