orionid you pretty much said what I was thinking about making my own version just to try the whole bounced flash thing. Over the last couple of days I have gotten the same advice about the popup flash in general.

Man this is one of those themes were a picture either really works or fails miserably at looking right. The pictures that look right really jump off the page compared to the rest. Like the pier that soosh posted. That one really jumped out at me along with too many others to mention.

I switched to flickr around January because imageshack kept spazzing out on me. I just went flickr pro last night. I like the fact it lets me see the original size on the biggest pictures. flickr has been very stable for me.

Just make sure that you mark NSFW/borderline images appropriately, since Flickr will make your entire profile “Adults only” with no explanation or recourse.

That happened to me, so I moved to Ipernity.

Yeah I saw that bit in their guidelines. I don’t get many opportunities to get nsfw type pictures around this little town unless I find a gory dead critter and take pictures of it like the dead sperm whale that washed up on the beach last year. I seem to have very bad luck meeting ladies I would want to photograph or date for that matter. The pool of available ladies in this town tend to be 17 or on meth. Small towns suck.

As far as where, I’d suggest a larger city, or as you said, someplace that at least has cheap airfare.

Amsterdam has historical hookers, enough weed to make the free accomodation in the police cells quite tolerable, is the home of lots of superb beers (and here they’re not expensive imports), halfway between the US and Australia so it’s centrally located and it’s large-ish…

So size, historical, cheap, central…ticks all the boxes. When’re y’all coming over?

As soon as I can figure out how to double my income I will be over. Right now I would have a hard time getting to New Orleans. but that would be a good choice for me.Saving money has never been my strong suit.

As for the question of Farktographers participating in the PS thread, I’d like to see that option remain open, but the issue of having a head start when PSing your own photos is a valid one. If it’s a mash-up contest, though, maybe require at least two different Farktographer’s photos to be included in the final result? Then any Farktographers would still have to wait for the Farktography thread to get source material other than their own. The other option would be disallowing use of your own source photos, but I’m not that concerned as long as there’s a requirement for it to not only be one’s own photos.

That seems like a reasonable solution to me. What say you, other pensively pontificating potentially participating photophiliacs?
