my 2008-09-10 10:10:46 PM ping pong ball pic seems to work but its showing up as broken image.would it be possible to fix it? Its currently my highest vote getter.

Ok I tried autostitch and I think its pretty good.I still don’t much like the stitching on the one full panoramic picture I’ve done but now I think my tripod wasn’t level or something. Should I actually get so picky I carry a small spirit level?
I was going to show you all my sorta crappy stitched picture but Imageshack is giving me no such upload. Every time I try it goes to a blank page with this url thingy http://www.imageshack.us/index.php? Even uploading a pic that is only 640 by 166? 😕

O.k. I’ve been messing with the stitching program that came with my camera and it seems to really suck. Or I am to stupid to take stitching compatible pictures.But I still think it’s PhotoStitch that is screwing up. What program do you all use? Does gimp work very well for stitching.and if so is there a tutorial?

Thanks the small one is at 640 by 131 already and It was shrunk down from 2912 by 596 cropped. The top picture was full sized and the lower is a thumbnail pic. I think I just need to use Gimp a little better.I haven’t even attempted the stitching thing yet.

Well that cuts me down to a small airport because this podunk town does not have a bus station or ferry terminal or train station. It barely has public transportation.

I don’t believe the theme is limited to transportation only though. It might be a good excuse to skip the obvious and go with some macrophotography?

You have a point. I guess my first step is wiki terminal and see what I can find that fits the theme that I have access to.

I guess it just goes to show, you flat out never know what will catch the crowds eye. I frequently have the same frustration, no one seems to like the shots I like the most and vice versa, but then again, I’m weird.

Maybe thats my problem. 😀

In fact, I’m not going to ever point out any specific examples, but it’s rare that my favorites of any given contest are the crowd favorites, and there’s always something very popular that just doesn’t resonate with me at all.

Me too. Quite often my least favorite of my entries gets the most votes, and then my favorite sometimes gets less than 5 votes.

Exactly my deal also.My favorite is almost always the lowest vote getter for that week.

This week included.I thought the tree backlit by moon light would be the one people liked.Maybe I should start submitting the shots I don’t like.

I think “Terminal” in transportation terms tends to imply a major station or hub – a bus stop or a garage wouldn’t be a terminal, so a marina or small private dock probably wouldn’t be either? A ferry terminal obviously would be, though.

The weather has been decidedly uncooperative lately.Back lit looks just about the same as front lit and I have nothing in my archive of pics that screams silouette.Other than some really grainy shots of geese.Even my cat Pain refuses to pose in the window when I’m paying attention.
