ParticipantThe lack of entries in general seem to be skewing the results.I have less votes than normal but they are placing pretty high on the FSM portfolio.

ParticipantMy last cheap camera started doing that the day before it died. It was pretty foggy that week too so it could have been moisture that killed it. I agree that the prognosis is not good.

ParticipantI am most definitely going to try to take a ton of pictures and learn every thing I can about this camera and photography in general.I guess I’m gonna go broke buying more lenses. But I can think of much worse ways to go broke.

ParticipantI just got home from spending the last 30 some odd hours at mom n dad’s. I figured its to late this time. On the plus side most of my pictures will be on my Xmas present from my mom from now on. Canon EOS Rebel XS 18-55IS Kit. I almost fainted. I asked her half jokingly for a dslr for Christmas like 6 months ago and she lied to me for I don’t even know how long. She is so awesome!

ParticipantInstead of looking at how many votes I got, I just call my Mom or Aunt and tell them to shower me with praise.
I think I will stick to asking my mom for praise .I don’t like Picachu.
Is there a English way to type the words my computer won’t translate?I got way less votes than usual also but I thought I just failed this week.

ParticipantThank you.

ParticipantI thought corsec67 was talking about his camera. I need to learn more about equipment I guess. That strobe thing sounds cool.

ParticipantHuh, lots of needles, but I have the only “eye bolts” so far.
I like the cat eye even better though. That is an awesome shot. It took dozens of tries to get Pain to sit still long enough to get his close up. But I think that one came out pretty good. I didn’t even think about eye bolts. Or sewing needles either. There are a lot of really cool real eyes also.
Thanks. I think what really helped the cat eye shot was my off-camera lighting and getting close. You can see the top of the Vivitar 285HV in his eye, which was about a foot to his left.
That’s about how far from Pain I was. I didn’t notice my camera though until I zoomed way in on his eye. You can see the lens thing on my Cannon Powershot a560.

ParticipantWow ! Everybody seems to like my first entry a lot. Boy did I get lucky that afternoon I guess. Its already in fourth place in my portfolio.

ParticipantWow .Thank you again. I will post the second one also but I agree about it not getting as much attention..

Participantthank you the other two pictures I got of him before I bumped the flower he is on are kind of blurry so this will be the only entry this week. You can see the proboscis under his eye.I’m going to post a link to the big version because I lose a lot of quality when I shrink it.would this one be worth posting ?

It’s kinda blurry but it shows even more of the proboscis.lokisbong
ParticipantI have three butterfly pics tonight but two of them rather suck and I am thinking about only posting the one good shot .All I have is a point and shoot digital camera.so I gotta get real close to get shots like this

its gonna suck to post a smaller version .I think the pollen is gonna be a lot harder to see. -
