Participant/besides I’ve probably stopped and shot most everything around here already!
Same here. There are a few places I haven’t, that I’ve been meaning to, but it’s stuff like the rose garden at the State Capital, or this botanical garden I drive by often. Not a good time of year for either.
/and the botanical garden, although a county park, requires a photo permit. One of my shots this week is someplace I’ve been meaning to go, on is a ‘thing’ I’ve been meaning to photograph but haven’t even though I’ve done shots in the area, and the third is in an area of town we haven’t been to in months but have been meaning to, and the shot is one I hadn’t managed to get previously

ParticipantCool. That makes my job easier (or harder depending on how you look at it…)

ParticipantWent down to Old Sacramento and that general area to take some shots for this one today. The cloud cover was spotty, but when the sun was cooperating, the light effects were pretty cool. Apparently we weren’t the only ones with that idea because I saw at least five or six other people doing stuff – all amateurs presumably, but serious about what they were doing. Pretty cool to just stand back and watch other people in between the stuff I wanted to shoot along the way.
But, I’ve a question – can there be people in the shots if they’re not the subject? I have a few where I just couldn’t get a point where there wasn’t someone in the background (in a few cases they’re hardly noticeable unless you know where to look, but they’re there) that I might like to use, but had in my mind ‘no people’ at all in the shots. Have enough to work with either way, but…

ParticipantIf you’re running linux, Gimp generally included with the installer. yum (Fedora) or apt or the installer for your flavor should be able to get it for you.
Windows has an installer that works well, as Choc-Ful-A said.
just kat and I use Gimp as well.

ParticipantThanks linguine. Now I’m going to have to watch The Final Countdown instead of taking shots for tomorrow this evening.

ParticipantYeah, I had the same reaction. I’ve never lived in the area, but I’ve been a few times and have a lot of love for it.

ParticipantI love the Marin Headlands. I haven’t been there in years, but I’ve been dying to go back.
/and FWIW Choc-Ful-A it looks fine on my laptop, and I’m sure it’s out of whack. The white balance is off, at least 😛
Also, realized too late (probably thankfully) that I have an entire gallery of the 9th Ward that I could have chosen from for this week. The B&W pics were taken by TFette X-1’s Here and the rest by me. These were two years ago…

ParticipantDude. Notice the comment right above yours.
/I know, I know. They have what we want…
I know too, but it’s nice to pretend… =P

Participant:). That’s pretty funny.
OK now. Seriously. Can you teach my wife that response?
I’ve found making dinner and bringing home Skittles on random occasions helps…

ParticipantCool stuff so far…

ParticipantSo long as it’s limited to the three options, it sounds good to me.
