At least twice. Some shots I take 7-10 of, all slightly different. I haven’t been around long enough for recycling to be an issue other then by dumb mistake (tally=1).

My entries all came from my recent Mormon Lake trip. I wasn’t kidding when I said I got 3-4 contests out of that one. Which reminds me I gotta stitch that volcanic ridge…

She looks like a hotter version of the Rachel Berry character from ‘Glee’. Heh-heh.

True, for now, but there’s this:

    [url]http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=2018&mcparam=en550540

And perhaps, one day, it could be batteryless, maybe with a special paint that acts as the collector array:

Might be a while, of course. And certainly a while to be economical, but the technology is being developed.

[raises thumbs, points to self]–I’m just a grunt, but I make this stuff. 😀

in my life time so many have helped me without thought of reward and i try to do the same to others.

Indeed. Pay it forward. Well done.

I’d love to have it all, if only I didn’t live in a 350 sq. foot apt…

Last known location of the Casio P+S. I also lost the nose cone on that flight.

/Old Mantra: If you can’t stand the thought of losing it, or watching it burst into flames, don’t fly it
//Edited for corrections: Farking BBCode, how does it work?

One day, they’ll make little economical GPS’s for peoples’ keychains (it’s a grand idea, at least). When they do, you can put one of them on each flight. 😉

Turns out my brother doesn’t golf leftied, but his son Avery does. He’s 5. I’ll check back with you in 10 years. I’m sure you’ll have a few ‘left’.

    Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!

You DID say bag-o-craps were a crap shoot, and I guess you were completely ‘right’.

    Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!

I’ll be here all week. Hell, I’ll be here all week medicated, like a REAL comedian–turns out my ‘cold’ got out of hand and I have some lovely prescription cough suppressant…

    Hey, I’m left-handed.

    I also don’t golf.

But my brother does; not sure if he golfs left-handed, though. I’ll ask.

Hey, that’s some good writing. You ought to submit that rectal bit to the Reader’s Digest for ‘Laughter, the best Medicine’. They pay for that sort of stuff you know.

    So, how was your day?

Since you asked, I’ll tell you. I’ll preface by saying over the week I had a wee little cold, snuffles, really. But by Saturday night, my 4th shift of the week, while I felt much better, by the end of the night I thought I was draining the Niagra through my sinus cavities. I work in a clean suit in a clean room, so Kleenex (insert TM here) isn’t an option. So I did what my grandfather used to call ‘drinking you boogers.’ Under ‘themes’, ‘State Fair’, I posted what I planned for after work, and I did follow through. By noon, I was home. And feeling miserable.

I went straight to bed, waking up only to either roll over or urinate. Waking up today at 4, I find my urine is the color of yellow food dye #7. While my boogers (now with Kleenex (insert TM here) goodness) are clear, my hackings are that color yellow that I know could go green soon, and that’s not good. Dragging out the old thermo-meter (no ‘back-door’ reading, TYVM), I’m running a *slight fever* that doesn’t concern me. But I do believe I’ll be calling up the health clinic at work today for an emergency appt. I’d rather nip any more nastiness in the bud.

I hope you get to feeling better soonest!

I think it’s more indicative that posting after the thread goes green doesn’t necessarily hurt your chances with voting if you have a good photo. ELO isn’t a TF’er and always posts after midnight–this time going on nearly 1am. I’ve seen him post later and do fairly well, too.

That’s also true. And I will, starting next week, see how my results differ. I start work at 6:15pm Wednesdays, and now that DST is over (which we don’t observe here), I’ll not often be able to get my pictures uploaded right away–especially when the person posting the contest link fall asleep, crashes their computer, has to rescue a small child from a pool, etc. and doesn’t get the link up on time. (Life happens.)

Much as I like doing well in the contests, the job comes first. I’ve also seen Ranger Joe do very well posting at later times fairly often. U-man, as well.

Congrats to both, for sure, but especially so to EdenLiesObscured, for that Farktographer has never come even close to #1 and I’m sure he/she is just stoked about it. How exciting to break the top ten for the first time with #1! It was an awesome photo.

/edit to add: Proof that even someone who hasn’t ever done well can win in Farktography’s contests.

Or just a note “all normal farktography rules apply”.

Pardon me for saying so, but why not simplify? Entries that are previous non-top 10ers most likely wouldn’t fair any better here than in any original contest (else they’d have struck a chord in the original). The odds that something new on the order of top 10 wouldn’t be entered are slim to none.

Since there were valid contests that allowed HDR, the blanket difficulty with the added contradictory caveat just muddies the waters. Eliminate the ‘difficulty’, and previous ‘artistic’ efforts will still be hugely varied within this venue.

I know most of my highest voted pics have numerous alternatives that I took, where I picked just one of many. If one wishes to retry a planned artistic shot subject, they probably have alternative shots of the same. Heck, I must have 20 shots of the Ding Dong Tower of Pisa! And that was my ‘throwaway’ entry!

    Just a thought.
