I’m tired. I don’t want to think about it too hard. I’d be OK just leaving the goofiness as-is.

    Anybody want to chime in?

    😥

😡 Suck it up, buttercup! 😡

You ain’t allowed to sleep nor rest until you firm this up–no excuses!

    😯

    I jest. 😉

As a TD I was thinking along the lines of, “Pictures where the theme title is your explanation–or excuse.”

And leave it at that. Should provide some interesting shots, I would hope.

Now this I can do. In probably far fewer words than in most of my comments here on the forum, even. The book project is on my to do list for my ‘weekend’, which begins tomorrow morning at 6:15 am. I’ll add this portion to it.

    I presume you’re looking for ‘1) intro, 2) 3 specific points, 3) closing’ type essays? 500-1000 words?

I almost feel like a failure. I know the voters are fickle but geeze the picture I liked most has gotten 2 votes other than my vote. Well maybe next week I will have better luck.

I’ve given up entirely on predicting the predilections of Farkers.

My not-perfectly-focused, light-reflecting-in-the-window, ‘where-the-hell-is-that-full-res-shot-in-my-archives-so-I-can-do-this-better’ disrupter-gun pic is slightly outperforming my ‘damn-I-could-have-burnt-my-apartment-down’ shot that I thought would be far and away the better voter getter. Go figure; I concur with caradoc.

Pic of the ‘whoops-I-better-do-this-a-little-more-carefully’ shot from the first attempt:

The bright side (besides the overexposed flames) is I’m keeping up with my recent averages and am actually on the stat’s board under ‘highest recent vote getters’–a feat I never expected to achieve.

IMO, lokisbongyour gunfire shot, cropped to just the gun and the smoke/fire area, would have ranked much higher. It’s that portion of the shot that makes it a good shot; the rest is just a distraction from that focus. But then a 5 year old with a p+s could have taken a better ray-gun pic than I did, and it’s my leading photo, so what do I know?

I must say I’m not a fan of armaments in general (hence my mostly week showing this week.) But I was impressed and voted for a surprising number of entries this week. Nice job by all. LOVE the weapon cube–very Borg-like. I almost expected to see Hugh peeking out from behind it (a nice photoshop opportunity, that.)

You know, if he hadn’t said ‘bang’, I’d let it go under ‘martial arts’ grounds (it’s what I thought before reading the caption). But he did. Nice photo, though.

p.s. thanks for the compliment, though ‘brilliant’ may be a bit over the top (unless you mean ‘illuminated’, of course).

I would like thank ravnostic for the earworm in tonight’s thread. I love the entry, it’s brilliant, but damn you for making me sing that song all.freaking.night.long.

/but that won’t keep the boys from making a buck or two

Meah. You think you got problems? I’ve had that song in my head now for two farkin’ days!!

/they mix ’em up right in the kitchen sink

I’ve got nothing for this contest. I might get inspired after the tot goes to bed, but right now I have no ideas.

You have tots? Then you have stuffed animoos. Hold one hostage at knifepoint. 😉

My entries were all going to be weak till I got inspired by Don Henley. Now only two will be weak.

Kestrana; I’m up-to-date with Acrobat (in fact, just updated) and I’m having problems viewing the setup.

Anyone else, or is it just me?

Not a big fan of rainbows. However, in the manual it says I have to give them some respect and take a couple obligatory pictures each year, and since I suck at the lightning bit, here’s this year’s.

Not much to look at, really; it was much fuller and brighter, but after most of those shots, I found I’d set the cam to monochrome instead of User Def. #1. whoops.

    At least inline.

    I’m sure that’s a pun.

Things that go down fast: farktography discussion threads, lead balloons, ravnostic, the economy, BP oil wells (oops–probably too soon, scratch that last one)….

Really; I saw it on an episode of the $20K pyramid, once.

    Elsinore, Schmelsinore, I say it’s a go-fer!

Of course, my opinion may be bi-assed.
