ParticipantWelcome to Car Talk, Farktography Edition!
orionid: I never told you about my 1964 Pontiac Catalina Sport Coupe, did I? 389 with 3 holly 750 CFM’s (Tri-Power!) and a Slim Jim 4 speed automatic.
Would pass anything but a gas station.
(I don’t know how fast it went; I got scared well before it got there.)
((I did get a ticket for 134 MPH in a 70, though. I framed it))
*drooool………* I like Catalinas. Actually, I pretty much like the entire class of old-man sleepers. That’s alot of carb for a 389. Jeebus. And you’ve got me beat. My personal best that’s been verified by a state authority was 132. My camaro peaked out at 128, but with 4.11’s in the back it got there real farkin fast.
Yeah, my Poncho had taller gears, 3-somethings. But it did have ported heads and a fancy Edelbrock intake plus headers that glowed real purty at night.

ParticipantWe might want to put a note about no HDR, otherwise people will think it’s open to that.
Yepper.
SilverStag
ParticipantI hate to be a killjoy, but I really dislike HDR. I see it as too gimmicky and overdone to death.

ParticipantI found this one too late for the contest:

Weird Roots by pjern, on FlickrSilverstag, the colors in these pictures are amazing! What a crazy, magical place that is.
Yeah, it was riotous. Unfortunately, I was under time pressure, and jumped out of my truck (air-conditioned to within an inch of subzero) out into a hundred degrees and a thousand percent humidity, and spend more time wiping condensation from glass than actually shooting. It was nuts, and most of my files from that morning have focus or haze artifacts from that.
(yes, I overstate the temperature/humidity thing. It was about maybe 85, and had been raining, and was misty, and my lens had been right in front of an A/C vent for 2 hours. Some days, you just shoot yourself in the foot.)

ParticipantI said piss on scanning negatives. I just put a slide copy rig on the end of my 50mm 1.8, and copy them that way. Put em in Photoshop and invert the values. Do a levels and curves adjustment, and you’re golden.
