Got it. We’re talking about games with at least some sort of rules and some sort of winner. Dress up and riding bikes and similar fun activities don’t cut it.

Right?

This will result in some DQ’s.

Consider changing the description to “…Sports and fun activities without rules or winners are not part of the theme.” Or something like that.

Oh hell. Or just leave it like you have it and roll. 🙂

… U-Man is constantly shaking his head or giving me that “I don’t believe you don’t get it” look.

… What I’m finding out is, I have to learn the technical to get better creative photos.

I try not to. Really I do. It just happens sometimes. OK…a lot of the times. Maybe most of the times. Hmmm, seems I need to work on that. 🙂 Love you, Mops.

The other thing is party true and partly not true. With good light and composition (and subject) a crappy Kodak Disc camera can make a pleasing photo. But, I agree, having the ‘stuff’ and knowing how to use it opens up lots of options to make an OK photo turn out better.

I read the theme title. I read the comments. I still have a question.

Do the pics have to show games with rules? Or can kid/adult/family play without rules be included? My three girls play “dress-up” at least once/week. It is play but it’s not really a game. Whatcha think?

How about such summer-time stuff such as running through a sprinkler, playing in the backyard pool, riding a tricycle, catching frogs/turtles/lightning bugs?

See where I’m going? Play without the rules to make it a game.

If these are right out, that’s cool. I’m just clarifying.

Well sure, but it’s always a good idea to have a variety of communication options at hand for when one wants to communicate one’s lust to one’s spouse in front of one’s progeny without said progeny picking up on that fact.

My favorite is saying it out loud, in a normal conversational voice – but using words in such a way that a kid doesn’t get it. (e.g. – pie, sauce, meat, lubricated, etc., etc.)

/12 year old is going to be too smart pretty soon though.

Just wait until you realize that you’re sitting next to each other on the sofa, and doing that. Or worse, having a FB conversation.

I can say that I don’t think we’ve sat in the same room and talked via chat…yet.

You can totally talk dirty with the kids in the same room that way. Then you put in a movie, sneak away, and have a “grown-up conversation” behind a locked door.

I felt OK with Qdoba ’cause I rocked the elliptical torture device in the basement today. Then, get this, I run laps in the 18 foot kid pool to cool down. If you run fast and long enough, you can get quite a current going. 🙂

Also, my desk at work raises up to chest height so I can stand and work. I got a $50 mini stepper and frequently do 1000-2000 steps in a day…while working. It’s nice for the mid-afternoon slump.

Wow! Lots of discussion on this theme. Just for the record none of mine have been desaturated. What I was going to suggest for another theme is the same black, white, grey idea with just one colored item, much like the red umbrella pic or like the color popping theme but done naturally. I need some guidance to suggest this on the new theme idea thread. Everytime I try to enter a suggestion it goes off into a Fark Black Hole. When I first became a member, I was able to give suggestions, but have somehow lost the ability to do it right. So HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP someone give me the step-by-step.

I was thinking the same thing. Almost exactly at first. Then I changed it a little. I’m going to go post it in the themes section. I’m going to beat you! I’m going to beat you! You are going to be too slow! Na-na, Na-na, NaaaaNaa!
