ParticipantThanks for the nice comments. I just took a look and realized I finally graduated from Elite status to Ultra Farktographer. My participation was pretty sporadic for the first year so my average entries per week kept me in the elites. It has taken a bunch of three-fers to change that average.

ParticipantInteresting. I buzzed through the thumbs and the ones that immediately attracted my attention were the ones with eye contact.

And the one with the Chuckies.

ParticipantThat’s cool. I have no problem with a ‘no posing’ rule – or the lack of such a rule. Both ways pose challanges. I just wanted to better define the playing field.
/heh – just noticed the pose challanges.

ParticipantProbably the simplest way to say what I am thinking of is places where people are not yet at their destination, so people in streets, sidewalks, parks, subways, trains, in their cars, etc..
I like that quote. It clarifies things.
The rest of the recent conversation changes my thoughts on the theme though. The ‘no posing’ thing was stuck in my head. To be clear – is some posing OK?
I have a couple recent pics of a poor lady and her bike. I don’t know if I plan to use either of them. But would the obviously posed one be OK for this theme?

ParticipantHey I just noticed with this contest U-Man passed 10,000 lifetime votes, so congrats to you 🙂
Thanks for pointing that out. I noticed that I was knocking on the door a while ago. Then I forgot about it the past couple of weeks. Pretty cool.
/At work. Want to be ‘On the Streets’. Or in bed.

ParticipantHey U-Man: Just cause I noticed you said you took the Disney light shot for a possible HDR–you won’t be able to use that shot from tonight in an HDR stack since part of it will have then been used in another contest. Cool light fixture, though!
Roight (like Monty python). I have other HDR’s I like better. Actually, at least three are from Disney. I had kinda forgotten about that folder because it was in my people/snapshots/family photos section. I found that I did quite a bit of creative stuff during that trip as well.

ParticipantAt work. I’ll check it out tonight.

ParticipantThere…are…FOUR…lights!
Huh? Are you talkin’ ta me?

ParticipantFarktography is cool. I saw this theme and was unimpressed and uninspired. Then I started thinking about it and taking a few pics. It is starting to grow on me. I don’t think it will be epic, but I bet there are a few “oh yeah – why didn’t I think of that?” entries.
Opinions please – How obvious/important does the missing thing have to be? I have a self portrait in an odd setting and 1 out of 3 lights behind me is burned out. Would that be in the spirit of the theme? Or is the missing thing supposed to be more important?

ParticipantKat, 🙂 Yeah, I’m pretty nice. But I can be a jerk just like everybody. I’m sure Mopsy can attest to that. I just try to be extra careful with these internet communications. You can’t read my body language and I can’t see how you react. I’ve seen innocent e-mails turned up-side-down with bad results.
Essentially, I like you guys and don’t want to fark it up.

ParticipantUmmm. I sounded like an a$$hole in that first line. Sorry. 😳
/I’d prefer a more open theme over a restricted one is pretty much all I needed to say.

ParticipantI know we all like to get picky, but I’d like to throw a mild chill-out people into the mix. Take a picture of a light source “throwing photons around”.
In my opinion, as long as the source is there and the light is there – things are just fine. I like the pics in themes that are more open and less restrictive.
On the other hand, I also realize that we need to play by the same rules. These threads batting around ideas are helpful.

ParticipantCool. You are welcome.

ParticipantEither way. Or grab my regular email address off my FB info page.
Just sent off a 6 MB pic to hidden acres. We’ll see if it gets there.
