ParticipantHey back off buddy, I already used the “Om nom nom” joke tonight! 😉
That makes me happy with my choice for #3. I was working whilst I was posting and didn’t notice your nom-nommer until I got home. Her mouth looks like a puppet. 🙂
btw – justkat, wtf is up with that deer stalking the kid. I thought it was a wolf at first.

ParticipantB-sides. The first one could have the caption, “Om nom, nom, nom.” or “WARRRGARBL”.

Participanthow ’bout a really bad one that makes mine look good? 😛 just kidding U-Man…
Although Pangolyn and I were figuring that U-Man‘s third shot would be one of his daughters riding a deer across a dam with moonbeams and rainbows lighting up the sky.
Big smile. 🙂 I see I will receive no aid from the likes of y’all. I’m going with the pretty one.
I think….

ParticipantMan. As frequently happens, I’m stuck between several for #3. Do youse guys want classic pretty deer shot or mildly funny with caption deer shot?

ParticipantWelp, tonight marks 3 years of Farktography for me without a missed contest since I started, and of course I’ve got crap for tonight 😆
Also – Stat-Watch: Just checked the ol’ FSM and it shows 299,011 all-time Farktography votes. So we should be breaking 300k this week. That’s a whole lotta clickin’ and a whole lotta wiping of hands on pants.
3 years. 300k. kinda cool.

ParticipantDon’t know if this has macro capability…

Participantmy best deer shot…
Uuuhhh. Typically dams are slower, less easily frightened and more predictably located. 😉
/if needed, dams can also be made.
//hmmm. if i went to the sporting goods store i bet i could get right up close to a deer head….U-Man
ParticipantThanks folks. Certainly didn’t expect a sweep when I submitted my pics. Corsec67, you made me lol. 🙂
/up next: dams ‘n’ deers
U-Man
Participantok clarify these:
1) how about small natural dams that don’t really stop flow but divert it?
2) locks. as in the things used to raise/lower boats along a river or canal?
I plan on using at least one shot of Mississippi River Lock and Dam #4. You kinda need a dam to make the lock work, right?

ParticipantU-Man I still think the Mother stone is awesome!?
I actually like it better than my night shot. I guess the night one is more pleasing to the eye and it is certainly less forced, but the MOTHER one is just downright creepy. 🙂

ParticipantElsinore wrote:In other news, I hit 7000 votes–thanks everyone 🙂 . My portfolio now shows boobies as Graves and wieners as Graves II, and next week’s my Farktography 3 yr anniversary. Guess I can retire and bow out to U-Man now 😆
No, no, no you can’t! You’re the rock, the backbone, the foundation (albeit a skinnier version :)) of this shindig. Please don’t go away. Plus you’re technically savvy. And anybody who talks about using Linux exclusively intimidates me a little. Congrat’s on 7000.
While I like the pics I submitted this week, I don’t think they’re 1-2-3 good. Some that really caught my eye (other than the funny ones. Rusty Cox, heh) were swampa2’s headstone and shadow, Eternal’s IR, I’mNoBigDeals’s blue blue, and the catacombs by newbie mareecar.

ParticipantI picked up a barely used D90 from a local camera shop in upstate NY. Apparently it’s original owner decided it had too many “button and dials.”
Sweet! I took the Canon fork in the road 7-8 years ago but I hear that the Nikon stuff is almost as good.
/deadpan.
//then cracks a mischievous smile. 🙂U-Man
ParticipantFirst things first – so what did you get, orionid?
Secondly – cool theme. As several have said here, cemeteries are photogenic. Visually and emotionally stimulating. good stuff tonight.
Thirdly – B-sides – here’s some of mine. I was this close to using the first one (0112) instead of the rainbow one.
